watching TV bothers me, I'll watch documentarys and the occasional comedy. But hearing other people laughing bothers me when watching comedy's. Fuckin Studio audience. It's as if they are telling you when to laugh. I watch tennis when the Grand Slams are on. I perfer movies and video games. Above all, I perfer chillin outside and experienceing new things, not watching other people experience things.
i dunno if im gonna better anyones lives at 2am... if anything they are gonna be pissed because they need to sleep
werd, that time is for me to become educated on the Ronco rotisserie cooker, and other great products from ronco!
I've found that whenever I decide to listen to music instead of turning on the tv, I'm very glad I did it. It's always so much more fulfilling, especially since I can work on writing, cleaning my room, or shooting the shit with you guys here. It makes me more productive unless I'm really getting into it and lose myself. Anyway my advice would be, the next time you're bored and want to watch tv, put some music on. Preferably some Doors, Floyd, Hendrix, Barrett, The Stones, Jefferson Airplane, The Dead, Zeppelin, CCR, or some Dire Straits... There I said it, Dire Straits kicks ass, they deserve much more recognition. Mark Knopfler is fucking awesome, he is one of the most underrated guitarists ever, along with Robby Krieger and Frank Zappa. Ok, I'm sorry about ranting but I'm drunk and stoned and feeling merry. Cheers, mates!
Yeah I fucking love Dire Straits, you have no idea. I have most of their albums. I feel that is my respective duty as a stoner to provide fellow stoners with recommendations for really good music. Brothers in Arms, Alchemy, Love Over Gold, Communique, Dire Straits, Making Movies, Extended Dance Play, Live at the BBC, and On Every Street are all amazing Dire Straits albums. Please give them a listen if you get a chance.
Television is a passive form of entertainment, but hey, i prefer it that way. they way i see it, if i wanna relax, i wanna do just that, relax. more active forms of enetrainment (the internet, reading a challenging book (not steven king but Mark Twain)) all have there time and place, but sometime i just don't want to learn any more (i already know way too much useless stuff, like what the red shift in the EM spectrum tells us about quasars). most live television is pretty insipid tho, if you wanna watch something quality search for "red dwarf" on youtube.com, they have the (more or less) complete series 1-8.
