this is going to be my first festival ever! i'm so excited...but it all depends on my bf getting some moo-lah together to go (there's no way im going by myself!) we live in the chicago area, so it's going to be a 12 hour drive, but judging by all of your excited responses it sounds like it'll be well worth it!

by the way, anyone know if they're still doing the volunteer thing?

I consider going almost every year. I don't know if it'll work for me this year... It'd be fun to go, though.

its technically not "volunteering".. you're actually hired and paid to work the festival.. working anything from 8-12hr days.. you'd have to goto the website to see if they are or not.. if you signed up for the chance to do so and havent recieved an email by now they probably are not.. i got an email for working it back in feb

8-12 hrs a day? That seems like a lot to me, or did you mean 8-12 hrs for the entire weekend?

Especially with the new addition... String Cheese! It sucks Trey had to go, his shows are pretty fun up there, but it is about time seeing as how he has played the last 2 years as closing headliner, Cheese is gunna be a great way to end the fest.

Are you kidding me? Trey was boring as hell at 10,000 Lakes.. i'm kinda glad he's out.. i couldn't even make it through 2 songs... and then i heard Shine and almost threw up.. I'm not a huge SCI fan... I was trippin balls during their set last year

I wish I could go... but plane tickets are running $450+ now and you'd still need some form of transportation to the festival from the airport.. :-(

anyone near the philly area wanna carpool? haha

I just got hired today, and they were still hiring.

Anybody go by themselves? I have a couple friends that are going, but I'm going to be camping in the Eagle Campground and they are in another, plus I just wanna kinda chill and see the music I want to see. So, yeah. I think I'm flying solo on this trip.

Damn, this sounds like fun. I have a friend from Stillwater, Minnesota who's trying to get me to go, but I don't have the cash. Maybe I'll apply for clean-up. Hmmm.

clean-up i would think is probably one of the best jobs you could have at a festival.. think of all the ground scores you could stumble apon... i found a bag with a little bit of mushrooms during Phil last year.. i heard of people who worked cleanup of finding pipes and everything else...

So anyone by chance wanna carpool to 10klf? My friend backed out.. he just found out he has to take a summer class to graduate college this winter.. so i have room for 1.. i'm leaving monday and camping at Maplewood campground which is like 10min from Soo Pass Ranch.. I have a Sallie pass so if anyone is interested.. would be nice to be able to split the costs of gas.. my car gets great mileage by the way.. its a POS.. but it gets about 300mi/tank
