For me it's the only good band of that kind of music. They have a great lyrics for someone who begun to play just for money. Their best song is A place for my head, and whenever i hear it, i become so upset, and only good songs can do that to me.
Hate them?????? I adore, I LOVE Linkin Park. They're...oh, I can't find the words, but their songs are simply AMAZING...
whoever said they were formed just to make money?? i highly doubt that, listen to their originial music. none of you can say anything against linkin park until you've heard their first songs download Carousel, And One, Esaul and tell me they didnt know how to rock.
I also enjoy them a lot. Im the kind of person who doesnt care about the kind of music thats cool to like or not. if its good music, then im gonna like it. and to me LP is good music.
Well, you're talking about their firts songs... I simply HATE them, they're sooooo depressing... and the lyrics, u gotta admit, were kinda imature at that time... When I first heard of Meteora, Jesus fucking Christ I just LOVED that. It is much more mature, the songs are different, the arrangements are in my opinion better, just the necessary and come on, the voices are SOOOOOO good... I like Meteora cuz it's more alive, you know? I feel happy when I listen to faint or Somewhere I belong or Easier or even Breaking the Habbit... When I listen to With you, One Step Closer, Crawling from Hybrid Theory... I don't know, the songs are very good too, but... it's SOOO depressing... and those lyrics... arrgh... :& Anyway, nowadays we all know Linkin Park is one of the greatest rock bands. I'm very pleased with their big evolution. Hope they keep the good work!
LOL! and thank you skelter. kitaro. do you realize you called their FIRST songs IMMATURE? And no, Hybrid Theory was not their first CD. The song "And One" was actually the first song they wrote after Chester joined Linkin Park. It's definitly not their best, but for a FIRST song? Its amazing. Sure, their shit was depressing. But far from immature. Now a days its too thought out. You can hear in some of it that it's made for the money and not the love of music. Look up the lyrics for Esaul. The original version of "A Place for My Head" I think this is what they were before their label watered them down.
Yeah, I'm sorry, maybe that was kind of offensive. I still keep my opinion, thouhg. You know, those songs are very good. Speacially for FIRST songs, as you said! But the first time I listened to it I said something like this «These guys are great, and if they continue with this quality they will need to grow a little bit... they were too close. Meteora is, for me a «show linkin park to the world« album. They are more open. Skelter... it's true. Just mention another big rock band nowadays. Let's see, Radiohead, queens of the stone age, u2, muse is really really close,... any other?
I see a lot of people puting down bands because there not "cool" to like. I for one Love Linkin Park. So what if their lyrics are depressing. Not all of life is happiness! D
I enjoy listening to Linkin Park a lot - although the weird thing is I usually only listen to them when I'm angry. When I'm angry, their music sounds best. I can relate to all of their lyrics.
Noone understans why do i listen Linkin Park when i'm de(e)pressed, but there are so many thing that make things even worse... ...like a paranoid lookin' over my back...
Yeah, I know that as discerning music connosiures, we're supposed to hate whatever's mainstream, but I like 'em.
linkin park is ok.. they are getting old.. i get tired of them.. to me their songs sound the same.. just my opinion peace chickens
for me it's just noise music ...i don't like when a singer scream constantly in the mic...it miss sensibility in their music...for sure they know how built a hit and there's a lot of work behind ...in loud music kasabian fly higher than those six boys...they fly so so much higher ... kasabian his a band with a lot of rebellion runnin' thru their veins and it's not plastic rebellion like those guys... because their rebellion has a soul in it...and it miss of soul and deep emotions in Likin Park music...really...they're not a bad band ...the problem is the level of their success ...so different of their artistic value.
I don't see why all of these "nu-metal" bands are trodden on generally... hell, they play REAL instruments, and some of them have really heart-felt lyrics, and some of the tunes are great! I think Linkin Park is the perfect music to listen to when depressed... they talk about things we can all relate to so we don't feel alone, and the aggressiveness in the music helps us let it all out.
I like the sound of the music. The songs sound really cool. I could care less about the lyrics and crap, I just think it sounds good.
