voting is giving the seal of aproval on your slavery and global war n ripoffs ......i choose not to be humiliated by being made to choose one master or another[ who himself is a slave to bankers n industrialists]] nowhere can you vote the abolishion of property , money , and coercive power ....smash the prisons...... smash the state .
Digital... Ive always wondered about the politics in Canada..ive got a close friend in Vancouver.... North Van to be exact. She doesnt seem like she knows too much but I ask her about it all the time. What are the political systems? What do they stand for? Who usually wins the vote?
Elections are rigged >:C , uh oh ballot systems and voter lists are being problematic... Either way I don't really believe in our two party system. Weee pick a color, no matter what you get a lame ass. I don't think the people really have that much say in this corrupt political society. The government is guided by higher ups, probably the federal reserve or some other masked super power. But ehh what do I know, my mind's been destroyed by a terribly addicting death plant.
I have not voted because there havn't been many major elections held since I have turned of age. I'll probably end up voting democrat in the presidentials. I'm an indapendant, but I usually side with democrats.
thats the dumbest thing i've ever heard, go live in North Korea meh..it's hard to tell because Canada is so cultuarlly varied, Vancouver especially in many ridings, 85%+ of the residences are of asian descent, so they usually make up liberals it's hard to find honest working white communities anymore, which are usually conservative, but i'd say the majority of the ridings are liberal, even though it's not a liberal leader in power at the moment [for now anyways]
people that don't vote are a commodity to politicians. i vote every time i have the chance. if i don't vote, i can't bitch.
No Because I do not associate myself with people in the sense of attempting to govern others by giving them rights and restricting other rights. Or to claim that one peice of Earth is owned by one, or many human beings. God IS the earth, God is us, therfor, nothing belongs to anybody. And for those of you who say that I have no right to "bitch" because I dont vote, well, first of all I do not complain about the state of the nation. Second, GOD gives EVERYBODY the right to choose how they act, and that contains the right to say what they want. The reprucussions of ill-natured intent may not be so desirable by the majority, but we are still given the right to decide by Lord Krishna. Like, for instance, the choice to worship demi-gods, we may decide to do so, but it is through Krishna, or God, that we are given the ability. yo yo yam yam tanum bhaktah sraddhayarcitum icchati tasya tasyacalam sraddham tam eva vidadhamy aham I am in everyone's heart as the Supersoul. As soon as one desires to worship the demigods, I make his faith steady so that he can devote himself to some particular deity. No matter what anyone believes, and however you decide to criticize my comment (if anyone does decide to do so), nobody can deny that we have inherite free will, and remember not everyone agrees with your point of view, but no matter what that point of view may be, you ALL have the right to perceive it and to share it as you wish
no I don't believe in politics, american republic, or any of the assholes that claim to represent people. The candidate I would support would be someone without any money and a very vibrant speaker and appreciation of freedom, complete freedom, not this american freedom we claim to have. If I had to vote and it mattered, kucinich would get my vote, him or google.
i vote, because it gratify's my ego to do so. and because issues interest me, even if political personalities are something i don't feel most of us are in any kind of a realistic position to be able to judge, other then by their own voting track records and those of the possitions that have not only taken publicly, but actually, on the record persued, in their political careers. what gets my vote is WHAT always gets my vote: real, sustainable, tecnological infrastructure alternatives. the who, is whoever best seems to represent them, and that, for the most part, remains to be see. what is unambiguous, is that neo-conservatives never can or do, and if there are any non-neo 'conservatives', well i'm not even real sure what one would look like, though supposedly, well that's what libertarians claim to be, though i don't entirely trust them either. greens i would vote for, and do in local elections, if they could ever run someone like comejo instead of nader. i'll probably vote (in the presidential race) for whatever the dem's coff up, if only to avoid another corporate mafia kissing republorat loonie. of course there's plenty to get discouraged about in presidential races, i won't repeat the litany here, but the point is, they aren't everything either. everything the corporatocracy doesn't pre-own IS interesting, influential, signifigant and useful too. and just possibly MORE signiffigant then the 'big show in the main ring' anyway! =^^= .../\...
I forgot to make it a point that THIS is exactly the reason why I dont vote, instead I went off preaching about my Lord Krsna. Thank you Themnax, you are always a step ahead of me.
In the local electionsI voted for Jello Biafra for something..cant rem what it was..im not too well versed on local politics but i still vote lmfao
I guess I should answer my own questions here.. I do vote. I vote because I am a young woman and it is my freedom to do so. I dont get every freedom that I would like to have in this country, I dont have freedom to smoke my herbs, or grow them, or share them with others, and every day that goes by my freedom to speak my mind without legal repercussions gets smaller and smaller. Had I been born in another country, theres a good chance that as a 20 year old woman, I would not have the freedom to vote. So regardless of "if my vote counts" or not..thats not why I do it. I do it because it is one freedom that I can still indulge in, and even if my vote doesnt get counted, I still feel very proud to have walked to the voting office and been able to walk into a booth and show what party I support, because it is my right. If I were born in 1915, I wouldnt be able to vote. But now, I am. It makes me feel good and we should take part in everything in life that makes us feel good. I will more than likely vote Kucinich. It all depends really, the polls are going to be SO scattered this year..the Republicans seem to just be..picking people up off the street to replace Bush. Sometimes, a vote that isnt for our two major parties, may just be helping the candidate you dont want more than not..so it depends. If it dwindles down to red or blue..ill go blue...may end up being another matter of "the lesser of two evils."
Yeah i need to get around to registering. Also- as a comment to all the other "anti-political system" folks (yeah, im certainly one of you)- You guys should really cut the crap and get out and vote- because although the system is REALLY pointless and idiotic, wouldnt it be better to have a ruling power that's still pointless and idiotic but to a lesser degree? Just get up off your couch and get some better people into office- Kucinich certainly comes to mind. Also- the more votes Kucinich or any of these offbeat candidates racks up, the more OUR real presence will be known to the politicians. We're all here and we all have these passionate views, but if ya dont vote...these politicians dont give a shit about your views. If you vote, you're making yourself known to them and the more of us there are, the more they'll cater to us. Just vote!
lets be honest, my vote doesnt matter. BUT i would vote if i had a person that i felt strongly towards, however in the 2004 election i didnt care who won, bush has fucked up, but kerry is probably worse.
all votes matter. its not about picking the winner, its about showing support for the candidates that best represent your views.
