Me and a friend are going to Amsterdam next week, and wanted to know if we'd find it difficult buying herb since we're both sixteen? (I know the laws there, and have been before, just not recently)
if a shop does serve you, odds are that its gonna be a crappy shop and they are going to rip you off anyway. your best bet is to find a cool 18+ year old kid that will go in for you. this way the kid can get into a good shop and get good herb and you won't be risking the license of any shop. us regular amsterdam vacationers are very protective over the license of every coffeeshop in amsterdam. even if the shop sucks, as long as the license exists, management can change and the menu can get better. when a minor gets caught buying in a coffeeshop, that coffeeshop license is lost forever and the government doesn't just let a new shop with a new owner start it the city....the city winds up having 1 less coffeeshop FOREVER.
oh and i forgot to mention...... i was in amsterdam 3 weeks ago for 10 days and i saw more shops asking for ids then i ever have in the last 10 years i've vacationed in amsterdam. what i also noticed is that if any one kid in the group looks underage, the budtender asks everybody in the group for id. if one single person in the group doesn't have id, they don't sell to anybody in the group. so if you do find an 18+ year old to help you, don't go in with the kid (which sucks i know)
