I have seen the movire years ago, its a classic, good movie and all, but I wasn't all THAT impressed with it. But a couple of my friends kept telling me how the book is SO much better than the movie, so I had to read it...and its true!!! that book is AWSOME!!! But one thing I noticed...for the most part, the movie does a REALLY good job of capturing the plot of the book. Except for the ending!!! its SOOOOO different!!!!! Why do you think that is??? I mean the ending of the book, with Carrie blowing up gas stations and electric lines flying down and electricuting people....that easily could have happened in the movie too. Why is it tha tin the movie, they had her just go home and die and didn't show any of the havok she did after she left the prom??
yesss, i know, it's so good! i read in about one sitting, i just couldn't walk away. i really wish the film had been true to the book, i think they could've done the aftermath really well... i mean, we saw how freaky the prom scene was...
Maybe it was to do with production costs, or maybe the editor thought the film would have been too long for the audience. The book sounds like it's worth reading. It's one of the few King novels I haven't read.
It's been a while since I read Carrie, excellent book, good movie. Wasn't Travolta a cutie? Has anyone seen The Rage: Carrie 2? I don't know how Stephen King could even let that happen to one of his classics.
Apparently there is an urban myth that he is one of the contributors in the Writers Forum, so he can't be all that bad, since there's no money in it.
