I just got a new car and the interior is leather (I didn't buy it, I hate leather) so I want to get some cool car seat covers, preferably with dead bears but anything tye-dye fun looking will do. Problem is they don't seem to exist.

Tried spencers... results keep turning up dildo's ;)
yahoo.... nothing except tweed and tiger skin, yuck.

Anyone point me in the direction

    hi!
i am in the same predicament....
i am thinking of getting a sheet from the thrift store and tie dying it, and covering the back seats with it, but i have no idea what to do with the front seats. maybe someone on here can make something?

let me know what you come up with.
    peace.

Melonhead: for the back seat thats a great idea!!!!!!!! but the front, maybe I could attached a trapestry fairly easily in a way that will stay put... but I'd much rather get the real deal!!!

The grateful dead have merchandise for EVERYTHING, so where the fuck are the car seat covers?!!!!!!

How strange! I am currently looking for covers for my car seats myself, but I am never able to find some really nice ones. Nearly everything around here is leopard-print, tiger-print, and so on. I am not into the animal-print covers. I am looking for something maybe space-themed, patterned with celestial objects. I am not quite sure how to go about making my own, but I am going to attempt to if I can not find some nice ones soon.

You can make seat covers. It's tricky, though. A stretchy fabric will work best. If you have an old seat cover that fits, use it as a pattern.

I'm not so crafty in the delicate way. I do crafts and sometimes work with fabrics but it's usually by hand and not "star quality". Perhaps someone on here can give a step through on how to do it. I would greatly appreciate it!! or link some instructions!! (I'll try and find some also). Thanks!!

I'm totally not good at explaining how to do things. :& I would try to find a seat cover at a thrift store or yard sale for cheap and use it as a pattern.

No local store in your community that can do a custom-tailored car seat cover?

has anyone tried online, places like ebay or etsy?

I've found that ebay has a tendancy of carrying pretty much anything, even the most obscure.
