my roots arent growing in at 6 months:(

    iv had my dreads nearly 6 months now and my roots havnt grown in the slightest bit so i hav over an inch of normal hair then dreads. i know not to backcomb them again cos it will ruin them so im leaving them just wondered if any1 got good advice on how to lock up roots?

    ill try and get a pic up of my roots

    Clockwise rub them? I only do it on the ones that are really bad, but after doing it for a minute or so it should feel alot tighter/knottier. If you've got an inch though might take a bit longer.

    ive tryed that, it helps a bit, but not enough.. guess i should do it more often/longer

    nope :p just rub them it really helps, after rubbing wait 2 days orso before you wash again, works fine with me :D

    after i shower i rub my head with the towel a bunch... helps to dry my hair and lock up the roots :)

    i wash my dreads pretty much everyday with seasalt/lemon water

    ill stop washing them as much and rub the roots see if that works cheers guys n gals

    yeah dude, too much washing can keep them loose. i shower everyday but i wash once a week and my roots are tightening up as well as the rest of my dreads. just give once or twice a week a try. and if your rub, i found that fi you just wait a few days after to shower, they tighten up a little better. best of luck to ya

    i backcombed my dreads like 3 times to get the roots tighter....theyre fine

    cheers folks wont wash hir for few days and just tried rubbin a few of the roots and it makes them stick right out like when i first gotthem dun lol. worthit tho gna spend another few hours on them 2moz hopefully:D

    I used to wash mine every day or so. But i found that was far too much for my hair, I've toned it down and now i wash 'em every 2 weeks or so. I find it really helps, then everytime they do get a wash they're tighter than they were before.. Might be worth giving washing them less a go.

    aye nae bad bit buggered right now cos had mad party last nite and probz ended up sleepin on them cos was up til 9am still smokin herb

    there will always be 1-2 inches of undreaded root. you need this for the hair to be able to move on it's own and lock up. it's normal, don't fret :)
