I was born and raised Jewish until I was 6, but when my father passed away I wasn't allowed into the temple because my mother wasn't Jewish. So we became Episcopalian which, at least in the church I attended, was even more hypocritical than Roman Catholicism. I was an agnostic for many years until I researched my family ancestry and found that my maternal great great grandmother was from Larne, in County Antrim (which by default means I'm not even part Irish, but most likely Nordic). I that vein I do have a Catholic history, though being Catholic isn't now nor was it ever an ethnic group.

These days I'm a simple Pagan with Celtic leanings, though more Baltic Celt than Gaulish or Albionite. Though I do enjoy tales of the bravery of Vercingetorix of the Arverni and Boudicca of the Iceni.

I hope you appreciate that I'm letting you know more about me as a person and I hope it helps you. If you're looking up my old posts you're obviously stalking me you freaky freak. I'm not greatly religious, but I go to church every now and again. Weddings, baptisms, that sort of thing. I can't say that I dislike religion, but I don't normally think about it unless someone else mentions it. I'm not exactly sure how religion can help out in matters such as this, but perhaps the priest(?) who has just joined can perhaps hold back on the sermon, and explain to us what the church POV is in the gun debate. Does God want his people to carry guns? Please guys, don't fuck this thread up again. It's neither a prayer line nor a chat-up service. There are plenty of those kind of services out there on the web.
