i can't speak for Cali family, but i do know that Hoosier, Cumberland, Om Valley and Katuah all have regional consensus not to post directions on the internet in public forums like this. Word of mouth is a pretty effective means of getting out the word. People know people and through the miracles of email and our roaddog friends the word tends to get around plenty. Some regionals sites don't have the capacity for thousands of people, in fact most probably don't. By posting on the internet, you appeal to predators(sexual and other), thrill seekers(not enlightenment seekers) and an assortment of others that don't tend to enhance the gathering experience for anybody. As an example, the Bread and Puppets festival in VT was around forever, but then they let word out online and next thing you know, what was a cool event got taken over by partiers, junkies, violence and other bad news.
I agree that posting on some sites is not a god idea and should be avoided. Is this one of those sites? I mean there are other family sites that post the directions to regional events as this one. It just seems funny that they were not posted here. Peace.
