Hell yes! Groovy posters, lava lamp, blacklight, twinkle lights (lights help a lot, if you didn't notice :p), photos with the colors inverted, buy cool psychadelic fabric to drape over the window or the bed...

lots of things can help, it depends on how much you want to spend.... but the posters and lava lamps are good ideas.... also funky pillows, tie dyed curtains (or retro print curtains), shag carpet, glow-in-the-dark stars on your ceiling....

A friend of mine repainted her walls in a really cool way ~ all white at first, and once it dried, she used wide painter's tape to make different sized rectangles and squares on her walls ~ about 8-10 shapes per wall. Her favourite colours are brown, pink and orange, so she used different shades of each to fill in each rectangle (ie one all brown, one all pink, etc) and then removed the tape, so it'd be white outlines. Looked kind of Partridge-family-ish... anyway, I thought it was neat.

Our trippiest decorating coup was back in 1971.
We tie dyed a parachute and hung it from the ceiling above the water bed.
It was quite awesome, like a flying canopy.

An India print bedspread will work for this effect too, just thumb tack it to the ceiling above the bed, and let it drape a bit.

That's a great way of using up those ends in paint cans instead of putting them in the land fill.

http://www.robertson-family.org/wordpress/images/largecandle2.jpg one of these. And smaller candles all around it. And some of these http://www.danray.net/wp-photos/2005-12-31-175428-lava-lamp.jpg.
Put black light posters all over and paint the ceiling black with white stripes going down it (Id imagine that would look kinda cool with black lights on.)

Of course you wouldnt light the massive candle. and youll never obtain it in your life.

A lava lamp shrine! with the big one as the center peice! right in the middle of the rom, and paint hypnotic, two-toned, swirls above it.

And yes, I realize that lamp is just a regular sized lamp up close on a desk... A guy can dream.

Dont forget to put those lava lamp night lights plugged in all your outlets.

man. I really wish that were possible... Is it!?

yeah definetly beads, posters, lava lamps, neat paint job. one cool thing is they make those cheap area rugs in a squillion different patterns. im sure you can find one that looks good in your room. oh and if you have the time and such you could make a set or two of tie dye sheets for your bed.
