US citizens who apply for a job will need prior approval from Department of Homeland Security under the terms immigration bill passed by the Senate this week. American Civil Liberties Union pointed out that the DHS's Employment Eligibility Verification System (EEVS) is error plagued and if the department makes a mistake in determining work eligibility, there will be virtually no way to challenge the error or recover lost wages due to the bill’s prohibitions on judicial review. Even current employees will need to obtain eligibility approval from the DHS Within 60 days of the Immigration Reform Act of 2006 becoming law. "EEVS would be a financial and bureaucratic nightmare for both businesses and workers," said Timothy Sparapani, ACLU Legislative Counsel. "Under this already flawed program no one would be able to work in the U.S. without DHS approval - creating a ‘No Work List’ similar to the government’s ‘No Fly List.’ We need immigration reform, but not at this cost." The act allocates US$400 million for the implementation of the EEVS, but the Congressional Budgeting Office estimates the system to cost in excess of a billion dollars.
the people unable to get a job anywhere can just be seconded into the army and sent to the eastern front forever. the good thing about a war that lasts forever is that you can rid of people you don't like.
Never advocated for big government solutions. In fact completely against the planned SPP agenda. In fact I prefer to leave imigration law as it is, only enforce the laws presently on the books, instead of convenietly ignoring them in many cases to benefit big business.
That's exactly what they're doing, enforcing. You asked for it and now you are getting it. Don't act surprised.
They're not enforcing anything by legalizing what's illegal and unconstitutional. They're simply committing more treason. These people always introduce the solutions to the problems they create, and this is exactly the case here. If you don't see this, then it's because you choose not to see it, or are simply just ignorant.
I can see your problem, you've been complaining on and on about how illegal immigrants shouldn't be allowed to work here. So now the government steps in to enforce the law, and look who's surprised. Bit late for you to be figuring it out now.
They're not enforcing anything because they are here illegally. If they were enforcing the law, they would be sent back to where they came. Instead, they're simply treating Americans like slaves. This will simply be used to push the national ID and make it so that everyone has to have one in order to work. They are using the illegal immigration crisis (which THEY created themselves) to then bring forward their pre-planned "solution," which is more government bureaucracy and tyrannical control. Again, it's problem-reaction-solution. The government never enforces the law. They break the law and shit on the Constitution time and time again, then make the people pay for it.
I've always thought the problem reaction solution theory is one of the dumbest I have heard. If there are 'problems' and government finds 'solutions', that is a conspiracy? Get serious - if there were no conspiracy, the world would still have problems that require solutions. You asked for a big government solution, and you got it.
The government creates the problem, which triggers a reaction in the people who beg for something to be done. So then the government offers the "solution" (which is always more control for them) to this problem. If they tried to push a national ID on us, or some fascistic piece of legislation, most people would not be for it. So they create the problem which seems to the average person to have just happened on its own, then offer us the solution as if they're stepping in to solve the problem (the problem they created themselves).
