Anyone here into Firetwirling, Poi, Staff or otherwise. I love poi, but havent got any fire poi. Im not really anygood, Im so lazy, but whenever I whack on a CD of some good Psytrance/Goa, It makes me untie my shoes and connect the shoelaces to an old set of glowsticks and Spin! So umm... Post about fire twirling!

I like to go raving a lot. So, I end up using glow sticks on strings as well! It takes a lot of practice so that you don't hit yourself with them. I'm not really great but I can hold my own for a while! I love watching it though. Try looking up some on youtube or myspace! It's some amazing shit when your high!

My friend caught his face on fire doing this. Had a huge beard and one thing led to another....

    fire hooping count? I've dabbled.

We have a great group, Colorado Fire Tribe with sunday night practice.
so cool to see a bunch of subcultures come together for pretty fire!

    OH OH ME!!! *raises hand*

Addicted to poi and fire. Though I do hope to get a set of fans down the road, and a pair of fire snakes wouldn't suck either...

Been spinning since last September. Did my first burn in December and now that the weather's nice, my hub and I (he spins too) are getting out a lot more.

If I ever get this video editing crap working, I hope to have a small little vid made outta the bits we've accumulated so far.

    yep, i love poi

i'm not too good, but it just kinda helps to express stuff.

love fire poi, too. they look so great in the dark.

also got hold of a fire skipping rope last year, that was really cool, sort of like being in a bubble of fire, light and warmth.

hoping to get much better this summer...

    anyways

    peace and love

Thanks! I wish the exposure had been about 2 seconds longer. I believe 3 of those pics were from a sequence of me doing a wallplane-butterfly-flower thing.

Toss some tennis balls into a pair of tube socks and give it a go!

Home of Poi has some basic lessons and if you surf around the web and youtube, you'll find a ton of helpful instruction.

Found this today in one of my links folders and thought this would be the perfect place to share. It always makes me smile and I think I was pretty misty the first time I watched it.

For those not familiar Nick is one of the best of the best and he's just got such a genuinely beautiful and inspiring soul.
