how can milk and eggs be made on cruelty-free farms? Unless you are speaking of vegan egg replacer and soy milk? The animals are forced to surrender their bodily fluids and eggs. Would you like that? I know I wouldn't and it seems cruel to me.

Yes... that's exactly the point. I wouldn't eat them because although this example is a bit cliche, "How would you like it if someone took your child and ate him or her".... You still have to inseminate the cows to get them to produce milk...

I say if you really want milk, go find some human milk to drink... or better yet, go settle for soy. Most people say my example I often use on going to find human milk to drink is disgusting. What about drinking the milk of another species? You don't see people having sex with cows do you?

No, because I don't like eggs and milk, so wouldn't eat them anyway.

Might buy them though, but only on behalf of my omni family. It would be better than leaving them to it and ended up with the cruelest options.

    Agreed
My long term goal is veganism. I just don't trust farmers to be compassionate.

The only truly cruelty-free sources for eggs and milk I would imagine would be the unfertile by-product eggs of chickens kept primarily as pets, and the milk produced on a Hare Krishna dairy. These things exist, of course, but are relatively rare.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.
Besides, I wouldn't eat milk or eggs anyways.

nobody here seems to understand my saying that cow milk is for cows, everyone tries to convince me "the chickens aren't harmed getting the eggs" and, my personal favorite, "the cows like to be milked!" they dont need damn people injecting them with hormones and taking away their babies and hooking their nipples up to machines to pull milk out so we can have something with our cereal!

My family gets eggs from someone who comes to town to sell eggs from his small free range farm.

Even small free-range farmes don't have a use for the male chicks and usually kill them. And the hens are usually kept for only about 2 years.

No. I have a severe allergy to milk. Maybe the eggs... if they were 100% cruelty free (ie a friend keeping a couple of hen's in the backyard) then maybe... but only if they were well hidden in a cake or something, but probably not.

Well, yes, I'd eat anything if I was starved too. I'd probably eat my shoes if I was hungry enough, but under normal circumstances, no, I would not eat eggs or dairy.

Let me change that. I would eat them. If I was trapped on a mountain with friends and needed food, you guessed I'd be an eating fool!

Yes. I'm not vegan, vegetarian though. I only eat milk from organic and biodynamic farms, where the animals aren't fed hormones. And I eat free range

eggs(eventhough it's very rare that I eat eggs at all.)

Be careful supporting free range or organic animal products.
The animals are often still severely abused.
This Peta factsheet gives some info about this.
