a little OT, but not really boogie, your sister lied about having cancer? OMG. She sounds like my mother, it's something she would do, for attention and pity. Sheesh. Took my own mom to the ER last week, for something minor, she thought was something major and had a diagnosis already picked out, The ER doctor gave her the diagnosis, which was minor, and the next day, she's telling me, "I went to my doctor today and (the terrible illness) that doctor thought it was, they don't think it is, but there is no way they can know for sure." OMG. I reminded her that I was THERE and that the ER doctor told her it was NOT what she thought it was, and she blamed the painkillers they gave her for "not remembering." :eyeroll: Then, a few days later, I talk to my aunts and they are thinking she has the BAD disease that she has now been told by several doctors she does NOT have. When I told them I took her to the ER, and talked to the doctors myself, one accused me of not being there, and was somehow under the impression that her own daughter brought my mother to the ER. Gee, I wonder where she got that idea...... Boogie, it's a miracle you and I ever manage to get out of bed at all, with what all we have had to put up with. (((((Boogiemama))))))
Geez y'all - I came from a big RC family. 2 girls a year apart the oldest (all the rest 2yrs apart) and then 6 boys - I was the fourth sibling in the lineup - square in the middle. We fought together, played together and are still all best of friends - course now we don't see each other a hell of a lot - or at least I don't. 1 in Hi., 4 in N.Mex (now they Do see each other often and are happy with it), 1 in Mich.,; and an older bro about 2 1/2 hrs away - we visit at least4>5 x /yr. - but he's a MD and so has tight schedules - we get along well and enjoy our visits. I am the wierdeste of a rather strange family - getting more fey every day. Life is good
I have a brother that's 3 years older than me. We have quite a few of the same interests and get along well. My sister is 6 years older than me...we have a harder time. She moved out when I was 11 and she still treats me as if I'm that age. I won't blame our fights completely on her because we are simply different people, it's no one's fault. Though I do hope that soon she'll see I've matured
I was born the oldest, but yrs after I got married my dad married his older brother's ex-wife so my cousins became my step-siblings so I now have an older step-brother...now hows that for a dysfunctional family
i have a older brother and a younger sister i am 17, my bro is 19 and my sis is 15. My brother is my best friend we have the same friends and when he is in town from college we are always hangin out. I get along great with my younger sister, we can fight but its about dumb funny shit.
i have 3 sisters and one brother my older sister is 38, i am 36, my next sister is 22 my brother is 21 and my baby sister is 12. we are all very close but it wasn't always like that. i don't know what i would do without any of them they are my life. i have no children so they are like my children and i love all of them very much.
I have two younger brothers, one 2 years younger and one 12. My brother closest in age and I are so far different it's uncanny. Growing up he never wanted to be outside while I spent my days outdoors. Nowadays he's a yuppie in a air conditioned large house with nice SUV's and a nicely trimmed yard, while we are Alaska bush hippies living without modern convenience. My youngest brother says that two brothers couldn't be more different. Growing up he would always tattle on me for anything I did wrong so we really weren't close at all. I haven't seen him in 8 years though we speak occasionally. My youngest brother came and visited us last year in Alaska and though I got along fine with him, I found him kind of a pain in the ass know it all.
My only brother 6 years older, passed away 7 years ago. I was so glad he got a chance to come to Alaska to spend a few weeks, 10 years ago before he got sick. He was really getting into small town Alaska, I'd introduce him to someone and the next day they'd say '"Hi Jim, hows it going?" You see, he lived in L.A. people dont make eye contact, let alone talk to you. He was having a great time until his wife and daughter flew in, after two days here they wanted to go to Anchorage to shop at the malls. Well brother, at least you got to dip net some Reds and walk on a glacier..R.I.P.
i'm the youngest out of my sis and i i'm 25 and shes 29. Theres 4 yr and some months between us . As far back as i can remember i always looked up to her but than as i got older i realised hey thats not who she used to . Shes a very me me me me person. And we hardly get a long . She got this and "I" got that so shes better. Well since i got say 75% on a test and she got 90% shes WAY better. In my eyes if i pass i pass. shes very materialistic. I can't stand to be around her much because shes like very Rude sarcastic, where as my sarcasm is funny . (dad has sarcasm) runs in the family. But when it comes to put downs and judgements thats when i have to leave. mind you i truly think ever since i got married shes grown closer to me because shes realised her only little sister is grown up... Shes a very very smart young lady and i admire what shes accomplished but she has to realise she has to put her foot in her mouth sometimes... __________________ I have to give my sister a lot of credit for what she accomplishes on a regular basis. work 72.5-80 hrs a week. Has 2 children under the age of 7 single mother, and has hardly any help .. I bump heads with her because we are SO very different, If she ever EVER needed me i would be there in a flash if anything ever happened to me she would be there for me. **So today I had called her up to let her know i wasn't going to see our dad on the weekend that i was supposed to, and that i was coming to my home town on such and such a date. What will she be doing . Every time i go to my home city my hubby and I always stay at her place. So shes working. Thats fine. Understandable. I can see her before work and after work. Spend time with my nephews. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with my sister I bump heads with and we talked like a actual conversation. I cannot believe it. ** Reason i'm posting this is because its never to late for a renewal of a friendship, calling your mother , father sister brother cousin etc and saying hey you know i screwed up or Hey you know that time when we were doing this and ... That was fun but that just didn't make my day and i just want to tell you that i want to mend things with you maybe we can start from the beginning. Sometimes its not as easy as it sounds because of the scenerio your in but you can only imagine what the other person on the other end of the phone must be thinking... WOW! Even if they don't know how to communicate, thats helping them understand or learn how to. Peace. T
I'm the eldest of three. Me: 16..nearly 17 Sister: 13..nearly 14 Brother: 12 Like with my parents and myself, we all find different ways to relate to each other. Were all very different people and I think thats what helps us get along so well. Of course things are'nt peaches and cream all the time (Its a family what do you expect ) Well be up sometimes, down sometimes, and then in the middle. And yes Functionality is soooo over rated. So are arms.
I only have one brother and we're twins WOO!! YE!! YAY!! While in primary school we used to be best friends but we're not anymore - tho we don't fight anymore and have similar types of friends (all crazy) We're still close. Allthough i have a mate and she has 6 siblings and 2 neices in her family so she's got a gigantic family - you can imagine the arguements She argues with her sisters all the time (I've only met 2) I luv being a twin it's great.
I'm 19 and I have 2 older brothers, 24 and 23. We get along great. We used to fight alot as kids but not anymore. We fight sometimes now, but it's rare.
Im 46 and im a little over a year older than my sister. We never really fought and we have always been close. We grew up out in the sticks so there was really no one to hang around with but each other. We still meet for lunch weekly.
I get along good with my brothers and sister (now). I'm the oldest. Yes, when we were younger, they were all jealous of me because I was the oldest.
My sister is 23, I'm 21 right now. We used to fight a lot but when we hit puberty everything changed for the better. My sister and I really best friends now and we spend a lot of time together.
I'm the youngest of 5. We have a blended family. My oldest brother (29) is my mom's, my other brother (27) and oldest sister (26) are my dad's, and my parents had me and my older sister (21) together. People told my parents a blended family would never work, but they were wrong. All of us kids get along great, except for two but they have reasons. Every family has some kind of shit, we have ours too, but we're ok. My older sister and I are like twins even though we're not, we're very close. We're best friends. I definitely think my birth order has affected me. I can be passive sometimes and my biggest challenge at work is that I have authority, which is difficult for me because I always did have 6 people telling me what to do. Lol. Not used to being the one in charge. My oldest sister can be a bit of a bitch, lol, but I love her anyway. She was my idol when I was little. And my older brother is the bomb, we get high and drink together, and I can tell him just about anything. Oldest brother is cool too, but we're not as close.
