ppl, i'm gonna go to greece for work this summer has anyone been there? what places are worth travelling to there? any hippie places? help!
If you get a chance to visit the island of Crete you should, lots of great historical sites there from the Ancient Minoan civilisation. I've not been to mainland Greece though....
Hmmm you if your looking for work,then you should hit athens there,always a job there( personally i would advise working in a bar,the greeks give really really good tips )no for hippie places not sure. I come from mani,south of pelopponisos, on the mountain of Taugete.Its really sweet there, a bit difficult to go but its worth going for a trip.Plus i know that the mountain of Taugete is fulled of wild weed and shit,so if your into that,find a group and go weed-searching There nothing more hippie than that. I ve been to Kavala ( nice beaches and historic ), Thassos( nice beaches) , Saloniki( big city) and surrounds. A fair bit of gear to smoke in the mountains in the North. But try and be VERYcareful in the commercial areas if ure thinking of really open drug taking.The Greek cops came down hard on it in Ayia Napa , the garage music centre. Crete and Athens can be commercial and cosmopolitan , lots to see there. Loads of nice beaches - busy and quiet.Archaelogical stuff if u like that. Greeks are generally friendly but poorer speakingEnglish outside the south generally. Ive been thinkin of living there.. Def worth visiting!Have a good time!

No problem Neponiatka I'm making another trip to Greece this Summer. Dont worry about the language issue - virtually all areas are geared for tourists. One of the places I stayed (like many), German was the 2nd language , and English was close behind. I managed to get by showing the typically English trait of knowing only 2 Greek words - pushti and malaka.And I wouldnt recommed u use those 2 words on a regular basis ! : ) What u mean weed aint a drug? : )LOL I've only had 2 problems with the stuff tho: - 1)the memory loss and 2)Damn .. I cant remember : )
weed is such a slight drug that it's hardly a drug.... if it's drug, then coffee and tea are drugs as well.... well i wonder what these two words mean.... i'm likely to work in a hotel, reception, so i think i will use english only....plus some german and russian for tourists...
Privet, neponiatka. Ya toje bil v Grecii, gorod Kavala zamechatelnoe mesto. V okrenostyah Kavala razpolojeno bolshoe kolichestvo malenkii neselenih punktov, kotoroe letom yavliaetsya mestom turizma. Klimat toze ochen horoshii. Tesaloniki bolshoi gorod - tam est mnogo obektov s istoricheskoe znachenie. Cenii - normalnie. Nichego ne mogu skazat dlya Afin, nikogda ne bil tam.
All places there are worth traveling to Greece, trust me, just try not to miss anything!... I was there last September with my school and had a great time, be sure to visit Delphi and Meteora, it was divine experience, you'll know what I'm talking about when you climb there... And people were so nice, I talked to one cute salesman in the shop where I bought one gorgeous hippie skirt and he gave me his bracelet, he was so nice...
i was in Greece last July. I didn't like Athens much but go to Mykonos if you want to party. Santorini for beautiful sunsets, plus you'll see all the traditional Greek white buildings and blue dome churches. I'd also recommend Ios for the beach. Have fun
go to ikaria its a bit difficult to go there because u have to go first to samos which is also a beautiful island...and then with a ship u go to ikaria...!small island with great an funny people a lot of dance eveery day especially in ''panigiria''in august an of course drinking!!!
