Well, I have this childhood memory I'd like to share with you and maybe get some opinions on that. I wonder if others have memories of this sort... I was in kindergarten, aged something like 3, 4 or 5 (I can't tell exactly, but it was during this interval) when I visited this classmate from kindergarten. He took me to his room and there we played. Once (or perhaps several times) he asked me to undress and then he undressed too and we got into his bed. Of course my parents were quite shocked by this and they scolded me, (perhaps the boy got scolding too, as my mum discovered us like that), and I was even taken to the doctor for that behaviour. Anyway, one thing led to another and the boy tiold me he planned to cut his p**** when he grew up because he wanted to become a girl. He even cried he wanted to be a girl, he got dolls from his parents too. So it's Mr. Freud, perhaps you got it wrong (your theory on girls' penis envy)...
That kid now stars as Dr.Frankenfuter in Rocky Horror midnight showings which are acted out in some gay club in downtown Memphis.
There was assorted weirdness growing up...Don't really remember much of it now that I'm all old. Everyone is clueless about their sexuality as little kids..Then parents emotions transfer mix fear and guilt with what is already confusion....Lots of tales of "playing doctor" ensue...Happens to just about everybody. If that boy grew up and still felt that way, I hope he found a way to be ok with it....Whatever path he chose/took.
I used to have a female friend who wished she was a boy. She would say that if she were a boy, I would be her girlfriend... I lost track of her after high school, but she's still a woman, and I think she is also straight. A lot of kids want to be ridiculous things when they grow up, like a dinosaur or Big Bird...they do grow up. Remember at that age, his penis wasn't exactly "useful" to him yet. He may have liked it a lot more after puberty, gay or straight.
