    Currently, it's raining in my town, and this sparked a question:

    Is rainwater good for my dreads? They're only about 2 months old, and I was wondering if it would help lock them up at all, do nothing, or harm them. Does anyone know?

    Thanks in advance.

    makes mine very soft
    but mine are 17 years old
    i dont think it will harm them only soften them some
    but probly wont help tighten em much
    maybe u could do a salt water rince to tighten em then let the rain rince it out to soften em?
    i dunno i love playin in the rain

    Shampoos are made to be slightly acidic. Thats because your hair is meant to be washed in rain water and rain water is slightly acidic. Given by this formula:
    H20 + CO2 => H2CO3 (Carbonic Acid)
    Carbonic acid is also what happens in your body, thats why you have to breathe which sounds kinda scary lol. To cut a long story short, your body has adapted over however many years to be friends with slightly acidic water. So whether or not its good for your dreads, i dont know. But it is good for your hair.
