Does anyone know where I can get this beer in the US (It's a Kenyan important)? More specifically, the New England area? I'm trying to find some to give to my girlfriend as a gift, she drank it all the time in Kenya and misses it terribly. THANKS!
Not to sound condescending, but what do you find so special about this beer? There are a lot of beers I am sure you'll find similar to, if not better than this.
I find it special because my girlfriend loved Africa and misses it terribly. I've never had this beer before, it's not about the quality or anything like that. I want to give her a gift that will flood her memory with stories, and people and places and landscapes of Kenya, the closest thing she'll get until she can travel back.
I lived in Knoxville, TN for a while and the distributors there carried it. Not sure if that helps you or not, but it is available. I hope you find it - I like the romance in your desire.
This page may help you a bit... http://www.ratebeer.com/Ratings/beer/beer-Distribution.asp?BeerID=11012 I'm not sure how up-to-date it is but it will give you a general idea of where you can acquire it. I myself have a few favourites that aren't exactly the greatest beers but I just have fond memories of them and like to try 'em from time to time. My dad is the same way. There are certain beers that he grew up with that aren't available in his region so whenever he visits family he always brings a bunch back with him.
well i'm not sure if the state you live in does or does not allow shipping of alcoholic beverages to your area, but you can purchase it from beergeek.biz, which ships their merchandise for a reasonable fee. i have yet to order from the site, so i can't vouch for them, but i've ordered from similar sites and had no problems at all receiving my bottles in tact and wonderful.... try everywhere you can locally before paying to have it shipped, even though the prices arent THAT bad. places to try are small wine shops, cigar shops that may carry beer and such as well, any and all specialty beer stores you can find, specialty groceries, etc. if you have world market stores where you live, it might be a good bet to check there, as they usually have a decent selection of beers by the wines. if all else fails, just go here: http://beergeek.stores.yahoo.net/tulabe50b.html
I too love Tuskers beer - fell in love with it when on safari in Kenya - I live in Ramsey, MN and a liquor store in my area has ordered Tuskers for me from his distributor - I have been buying it by the case - I believe I have been paying approx $52 per case - not bad considering that the bottles are 20 oz. I am going to have to order again soon, so will find out who his distributor is and let you know.
they carry the stuff at my current liquor store when i'm not home on break. stuff looks pretty average. i can't see paying a lot of money for it.
