    Pacific Festival of the Book (March 23 - 24)
    Location(s): Victoria Arts Connection
    Two day event featuring integrated interdisciplinary workshops revolving around the literary arts. Extensive book sellers and publishers fair. Events include roving performers, author talks, book signings, book making demos, publisher and self-publishing workshops, children's storey telling. Young writers workshop and art exhibits celebrate the art of the book.

    Tartan Parade (May 12) and Victoria Highland Games (May 19-20)
    Location(s): Government Street / Centennial Square and Bullen Park (behind Esquimalt Recreation and Sports Centres)
    The Tartan parade procession from the Legislative grounds finishes in Centennial Square with downtowns own mini festival – entertainment, singing and dancing Scottish style. The Games the next weekend, includes a full day of Scottish events and entertainment for the whole family. Competitions in piping, drumming, highland dancing and heavy events, along with Scottish vendors, food, demonstrations and free kid events/ workshops.

    Island Farms Victoria Day Parade (May 21)
    Location(s): Downtown Victoria along Douglas Street
    Victoria largest parade event, with over 150 entries – marching bands, floats, clowns etc. Over 120,000 spectators watch this popular annual event in person and on television. Fun for the whole family.

    Uno Festival of Solo Performance (May 23 – June 3)
    Location(s): The Metro Studio, 1411 Quadra Street

    Selkirk Waterfront Festival (June 2)
    Location(s): Selkirk Waterfront, 2940 Jutland Road on the Gorge Waterway
    The Selkirk Waterfront Festival is a celebration of the rich recreational offerings of the Gorge Waterway and the recent revitalization of this historic area of Greater Victoria. It's a day of fun on the waterfront, including rowing races, historical dragon boat tours, performances by the Victoria Conservatory of Music, art displays, and the Burnside-Gorge Community Association's Family Fun Fair. There's lots of food, fun, and activities for everyone, and it's all free!

    Beacon Hill Park 125th Anniversary Celebration (June 16 - 17)
    Locations(s): Cameron Bandshell, Beacon Hill Park
    The City of Victoria celebrates the 125th Anniversary of Beacon Hill Park! On February 21, 1882 by an Order-In-Council by the Province of British Columbia the City of Victoria was granted the Park in trust. In recognition of the Park's 125th Anniversary, a weekend family celebration will occur on June 16 and 17, 2007. Festivities will take place at the Cameron Bandshell in Beacon Hill Park.     Music brings people together like nothing else! Celebrate Father's Day in the park and bring the whole family to an all ages Celtic music extravaganza filled with Irish dancers, fantastic fiddlers, rousing singing, and genuine good fun in the Irish and Scottish music traditions. Enjoy with your friends and family the energy of a Ceilidh - or "Kitchen Table Party". This year's program highlights Daniel Lapp, the BC Fiddle Orchestra and the Mairead O'Brien School of Irish Dancers.

    JazzFest International (June 22 – July 1)

    JazzFest International, through its innovative artistic vision, features over 275 regional, national and international musicians, performing all styles of jazz, blues and world music.     Victoria's International Military Music Festival is the only event of its kind in western North America, featuring The Pacific Tattoo, brass-reed bands as well as military pipes and drums from across Canada and overseas.

    Art Gallery Moss Street Paint-In (July 21)
    Location(s): Moss Street from Fort Street to Dallas Road
    Art Gallery of Greater Victoria's Annual Moss Street Paint-In is a free community event that showcases the talents of Victoria artists and the techniques that they employ. Up to 100 artists line the boulevards of Moss Street from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. The Food and Beverage Garden with entertainment and dancing is open until 9:00 p.m. in the Art Gallery Parking Lot at 1040 Moss Street.

    Victoria Electronic Music Festival (August 4 - 5)
    Location(s): Market Square, various night clubs
    Dance oriented event showcasing live electronic music via main stage performances. Also educational seminars from local industry leaders. Event attendees can dance, interact with peers, and take part in hands on demonstrations.

    Symphony Splash (August 5)
    Location(s): Victoria Inner Harbour
    The Victoria Symphony Orchestra performs a full two-hour concert of light classical orchestral music from a barge anchored in the Inner Harbour. Highlights include Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, accompanied by cannons fired by the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets, bell ringing and fireworks. Make it a full day event and enjoy the pre-concert entertainment starting at 4:00 p.m.

    Victoria Fringe Theatre Festival (August 23-September 2)

    Vancouver Island Blues Bash (August 31 - 3)

    This Labour Day weekend festival is a celebration of blues and R & B music that presents a program of free and paid performances, featuring over 14 individual bands, over 3 afternoons and 3 nights. The main outdoor stage of this festival is located at Victoria's Inner Harbour, at Ship Point.

    Great Walk (June)
    North America's toughest pledge walk - 63-1/2 kilometres along gravel forestry roads in some of the most rugged and beautiful country in the world. The annual walkathon between Tahsis and Gold River attracts thousands of outdoor enthusiasts to raise money for charity.

    Nanaimo Marine Festival (July)
    Visitors won't want to miss the world-famous Bathtub Race held during the Nanaimo Marine Festival in late July! Men and women of all ages and backgrounds come from around the world to race across the Georgia Strait in bathtubs, from Nanaimo to Vancouver. Competitors always take the 48km run very seriously, but the day is filled with tons of fun and laughs for both contestants and spectators alike. Hundreds of outboard powered "tubbers" plane their zany craft at high speed across the strait in their quest for the much-coveted first prize.

    Filberg Festival (August)
    The Filberg Festival, reputed to be the best Arts and Crafts festival in the Pacific Northwest, offers an amazing selection of the finest quality work, from pottery to hand made toys - all produced by BC resident artists. This outdoor show and sale is displayed in the gardens of Comox Valley's historic Filberg Lodge. Entertainment is local too, provided in many musical styles.
