Hey, I got Reefer Madness, and started watching it, and I stopped watching. I'm high, and the movie seems really serious and the version i have even has this long government message at the beginning, and it pisses me off so much how the government could try and hide this fucking wonderful secret b/c they prbly wanted it for themselves or there's still a motive they did this of which i'm not sure. Anyways, it got me thinking, if they really wanted THAT bad to convince us, what if they have a psychological thing in the movie, like you know, a frame with a subliminal message and shit. Some of those were found in Disney movies and instead of 24 out of 24 frames being the movie, one frame was a commercial for cola or something, and after the movie you would want to buy some or something. So what if they put in a message to make us some how hate weed, and we don't even know it, and then all of a sudden I say, hmmm i don't like it anymore. Anyways, what do you guys think? Still, high, but I do make sense right? P.S. Edit: I just realized it's 4:17am...going to sleep with music, later!
All i can say is i thought it was a really powerful film! Hell if i was a parent in teh 1930's id be shitting myself and running ome and throwing the shit at my kid and going 'fuck shit ass cake you better not be smoking the reefer boy or youve had it ' The movies meant to have that guy at the start, it does drag on a bit, but i saw the start while sober. The movie gets really scary later in teh film when ralph goes crazy, because he actually shows waht you can become if you smoke way too much and get into an environment like that (except the movie doesnt show the stoned side of amrijauna, only the high side). Needless to say im high now too so i hope that made sense, i cant even remember waht i wrote. But you should see it all man

Your afraid its going to turn you off weed? Hey, id say if you were anxious about your smoking lots, then it might affect you a lot actually, it drew me in and , especially beings toned, began to beleive weed was really a devils weed!
Exactly...they look pretty determined that we are completely against it. It gets you thinking what they possibly have discovered that they wanted to hide it so badly from us. To bad for the idiot government that they didn't realize that in the future, like today, we could tell they were trying to influence us simply because they exaggerated it too much.
Well, subliminal messages weren't illegal at the time, so BIG possibility. Infact, the reason subliminal messages are illegal (one big reason anyways) and the reason popcorn is the theatre food, is because in early theatre days they'd flash subliminal messages of popcorn and shit... to get you to go to the concession stand.
Subliminal messages have proven to be extremely weak because memory depends on attention, and if you aren't paying much attention to a message, it won't carry much weight. Subliminal messages are easilly overpowered by nearly anything. People who use tapes at night to "subliminally" teach themselves, say, not to eat so much...seeing a single food commercial can overpower a week of listening to tapes at night. Don't worry about subliminal messages man.
