The actual purpose of life is to man the environment and transform it to fit one's needs and wants.

^^^That's what creatures on earth do.

You think I'm on point? What do you think the purpose of life is though?

Man is the only animal that truly changes his environment, and even that is a rather recent development. Most animals, and even some humans, simply exist with what the world has to offer. They don't attempt to change it. I don't think there is one purpose of life. At least spiritually speaking. I believe however, that the purpose of life is to explore and attempt to answer that age-old question, of what the purpose of life is. I see life as a giant sandbox; we make of it what we want. Biologically speaking though, the purpose of life is to reproduce. It's interesting to think about how many of our motives always lead back to sex.

seems a purpose of life would have an object that is an otherness .

my parents say the purpose of all life is to sing to god . that's nice enough , and is ok as a truth since happy healthy Life does rather and freely altogether sing to the universe .

life is concious motion . as we sing and eat and crap , stuff gets moved around and around . when the ball stops rolling , it gets a push . with enough life to do it , the universe may never stop rolling . thus too , life becomes eternal .

the otherness is all existence . mostly a bunch of rocks and dust .

SR, thats not a purpose, thats a symptom.
The search for a purpose could itself be the realisation and non-acceptance of the futility of life.

The purpose of life is to be happy and make others happy, according to the Dali Lama. Personally, I agree with him.

    Peace and love

urmm its stupid trying to give a purpose to something for no reason..
why shud we have a purpose, where just pieces of flesh n bone walking around and interacting.. evolving over time.. theres no end point or goal for us.
Saying theres a purpose for us is like saying a rock on the ground has a purpose.
UNLESS.. you look at it from a spiritual point of view.. of which there may be some unknown reason for us being here.. of which i am undecided on

The real question is why people feel like they NEED to have a purpose at all.

If there's a purpose for humans,it has yet to be revealed. We're capable of guessing but not of knowing. Some say they KNOW--but we all seem to end up the same way---recycled dust.
