Does anyone have any experience or helpful suggestions with seeds that "seem" to germinate...(little split in seed, white tap root showing barely outside husk)...but the little suckers STAY that way? Darn if I don't have some seeds...(different strains)...that show a little tap root and then "freeze" in that position and never go anywhere. Even had one that put out a 1/4" tap root and never went further. I've even changed the water on the sponge they're sitting on, kept them elevated off the seed mat (re: heat), and rolled them around to soak from all sides. Don't know what the heck...but losing some isn't helping "the cause". TKS
well.. try the paper towel method... take a paper towel... wet the hell out of it then press a little so no excess water remains... put the seeds in the towel and ply over them.. you have to let the seeds stay moist all the time.. not just when you roll'em around the sponge... if this doesn't work either... take the tap rooted seed you have and plant them directly into soil... good luck..
Ha...some seeds don't mind the "roll in the sponge"....but I'll add some paper towel to the top and see what happens. Darn things can be so finicky! TKS
I always just put mine in room temp bottled water. About a shot glass amount of water. It always worked best for me
man, i never did all this shit i do it the old fashion way, i put my seeds half an index finger in the dirt, keep the dirt moist and under the sun and i have babies poppin up in 4 days.
