with the pics up of when everyone was young you should share some of your weird kidness here i want to hear what crazy kids you were when i was like 4 i used to get up really early to watch a women in a purple unitard do yoga on pbs at like 4 in the morning i'd bring my stuffed rabbit down with me and but barrettes in her ears when i was in elementary school i used to hang up side down from the jungle gym bars all the freaking time i remember alot of crazy shit i used to do as a kid...do you remember anything ?
Indian Summer....I think I watched that same lady in the purple leotard doing yoga. If it's the same one her name is Lilias. She's still on sometimes. I don't know how crazy this is, but I had a SEVERE Popeye fetish when I was four, five years old. I WAS Popeye for those two years. I had the corncob pipe, closed one eye all the time and sang his goofy songs.
Oh I loved Popeye too! Anytime it came on the television, I'd come running in to see it. Cracked my parents up. Let me see, childhood memories, I've got a lot of them, but there are some that stick out more than others. Like the time I was around 5 years old and got into my mother's cosmetic case, and selected my favorite shade of lipstick she had. No, no, this isn't going where you'd THINK it would, I didn't smear it all over my lips. Nope. I went outside with it and drew pictures all over the neighbors' windows. Yes, that was me. :H
When I was a young ladle: I was OBSESSED with Elvis Presley when I was about 4-7 years old... Still know all the lyrics... I used to enjoy putting a handful of walnuts in a stubby little soup thermos of grape juice and eating it with a spoon.. ahhaha Used to dress my cat in baby clothes and push him up and down the road in a baby stroller. ahhah Poor cat. He actually let me just dress him up inside a damn sleeper and didn't even fight it at all. And never tried to get out of the stroller. hah. And I used to be deathly afraid of seaweed.aaaaaaaaahaha
I was convinced as a child that if I walked under my mums table I'd enter an alternate dimension. I never went anywhere near it. I used to prank call fast food joints when I was a kid whenever my parents went out. Pizza Hut, etc.. Even pranked 000. Ehehe Oopsy.. Ended that when a cop actually called me back and scolded me over it through the phone. Didnt do it for a while after that lol Also when I was a young child I bit my sister and somehow convinced her to blame it on our brother, who was about 2-3 at the time. Im sure theres loads more but I cant be bothered thinking.
When I was three or four I'd always talk about Jim Morrison during Sunday School. When I was about five I'd watch The Wizard of Oz repeatedly. As soon as it would finish, I'd rewind the tape and start it over. I obsessed over those Goosebumps books and the Baby-Sitters Club books from kindergarten until about fourth grade. That's all I can think of.
When I was four or five, we lived across the street from a vinyard. I would go across the street and help myself to the grapes. The older kids told me I was stealing, but I couldn't grasp how I was stealing because there was no house on the property, the grapes were just out there with no one minding them. I knew it was wrong to go in someone's yard and pick flowers or fruit because grandma had taught me that, but it was quite a while until I understood about not picking the fruit out of the vinyards and orchards in our area.
I was hooked on Popeye, too. Can't believe I actually ate that disgusting canned spinach. My mom would cook it for me but she wouldn't eat it, and she's always been big on veggies.
How odd, so did I! Kind of a funny combination, huh? I had an imaginary boyfriend when I was around 5 or 6. I would blame everything on him, haha. One time that sticks out: I got ahold of my mom's bright red nail polish and made lovely "duck tracks" all over her bedroom door. When confronted later in the day--"Oh, my boyfriend did that", followed by casually walking off as if it were nothing. Also around this age, I would dress up in leotards, smear a bunch of my mom's makeup on my face, and then do performances for my family before dinner. I remember these things so vividly that it makes me feel a little crazy, as if I still live my life with such logic.
aww i love your guys stories! i remember when i found a 2 dollar bill in the sand at the play ground i was so freaking excited! and i love how everything seemed so much bigger, or farther than it is now
