hello all as you may or may not know i recently had my son who is now a week and few days old. i had him by cesarian and had a spinal anesthetic. well here is my question/s. my left arm is just blah. i cannot lift anything higher than my shoulders without having some discomfort. i told my dr and she said its normal after anestetic and it will go away in a few weeks. well i want to know if there is something that i can do to deal with the discomfort and well i gues make it go away quicker. also right above my incision hurts like hell when it is lightly touched. (example: when i wear a t-shirt and the shirt is a lil tight on the tummy that will hurt) i never had this issue with my first c-sec and well maybe since i was cut in a different spot may contribute to the reason. have any other women delt with something simular??????????
I didn't have the arm thing, but the area above the incision was tender to the lightest touch for a very long time, like 6 weeks. I figured it was a lot of brusing (they do push and tug on you pretty hard during the c-sec) on top of the nerve endings coming back to life. It's gone now, 2 months later.
oh also one other thing that is bothering me....... Part of my incision is stil some what open and well i had my staples removed and butterfly stitches put in place to help the incision stay closed well the butterfly stitches came off today and the incision is still open. i put band aides over it to keep it from opening but i am freaking out my sister had the same exact thing happen to her with her last c-sec and it turned out to be a hernia. my dr had said that this is normal and that my incision is healing perfectly. im just freaking out cuz i dont want to want to have to go to the hospital in order for them to tell me that i have a hernia and then need surgery (this happened to my sisiter she waited 6 wks and went to her drs 5 times they said she had scar tissue then she ended up in the hospital and they told her she had a hernia and would need surgery)
I don't know about that one. I had these tape strips covering my incision, and they started to come off after a week. My incision was sealed right back up with a small little pink line to show for it. I was actually quite happy with how it looks, because my scars usually keloid really bad.
