Ok, this is my hope of making things better in PA.

Giant Food is everywhere here. They build a brand new store somewhere and a year or two later, they close it after they open a huge "superstore" right next to the old, vacant building. Some of their old buildings have been vacant for nearly five years now.

In Dillsburg, they finally destroyed one of the smaller mom and pop "sure fine" markets, as they destroy those all over.

Do what you can to stay out of Giant. Sure, they bring it all to one convenient location, like Wal Mart, but they don't need any more money than they already have. I'm going to Karns, they are a lot smaller than Giant, and I feel a lot better not supporting another sprawling grocery store chain plaza across a once food producing field.

Thanks for the heads up about the store...I always avoid it but now I'll be sure to tell everyone else to too.

I was about half lit & pissed off at wal-mart when I wrote my last post,& I totally forgot,Giant's old building here in gettysburg is also empty. They had to build a bigger one out on rt. 30 where they'd get more traffic. If this is considered progress,I'd rather regress

I think all of Giant's profits go overseas too because they are dutch owned, I believe.

And I'll never understand how they can leave so many stores vacant. There's one in Mechanicsburg also, vacant for about 8 years now.
