Extreme fear of doctors

When I go to a doctor I go pale and sick with fear.

 

why?

 

I think that fear is more healthy than anything the doctor is likely to prescribe.

 

The pale and sick is probably a coincidence...why else would you go to a doctor...

 

I just don't like doctors and their pill pushing.

But fear?

What's the worst case scenario? They tell you that you have terminal cancer or something... oh well... it's heroin binge time!

 

Its an incompetent surgeon I fear the most.

 

I get very uptight, and my blood pressure goes way up. It is called "White Coat Syndrome" ( fear of doctors, dentists, etc.), and usually refects some experience you had when you were very small, even before you can remember. I think that visits to the doctors when my sister and I were small were so traumatic and dramatic (my sister screaming, crying, flailing, shreiking for me to tell her if my "shot" hurt really bad or not), that even today I have a stored memory gut-reaction to the whole unpleasant experience.

 

My dad was a tough guy but a pussy when it came to doctors and it would be a big factor in his early death. He blamed it on some sadistic dentist he and his brother had as children in Chicago, whom didn't believe in using either novocaine or a sharp drill.

 

i am terrified of doctors and dentist.

 

I like doctors. They give me drugs.

I just love doctors and everything about them...I like hospitals and their smell.....I d use to come earlier for every appointment just to be in the waiting room and enjoy in wonderful scenery...aaaah the days.
I dont do that anymore of course...

 

i have had only one doctor that i felt comfortable around...the rest are evil money grubbing bastards...

 

I was before I found a doctor who wanted me to take my clothes off. Now I go when I'm not even sick.

I used to be much more afraid of doctors then I am now. I still don't feel comfortable going to doctors...even if it's just about something stupid like allergies. I get a bit nervous for "no reason".

 

Doctors do not bother me at all. They prescribe me any drug i basically want within reason.(aderall, vicoden, xanax, stuff like that) And keep supplying without having to go back and check up for a long time.

 

How did you manage that?

 

I have been taking ritalin, concerta, adderall since i was 10.. so I can get however much of that I want. I dont take a whole lot of xanax or vicoden, but I can get prescribed if I really want, because I have been with this Dr. for a long time. He is also friends with the family, so that helps too. I usually just get those two from friends pretty cheap if I wanted some. But adderall is my fav drug of all so I get those from the dr really cheap. Actually adderall and vicoden are up there tied at #1 fav.

 

Why not?

 

I don't like doctors either..they talk too much..
when I was a coalminer..sometimes..
I felt like NOT going to work..
in the waiting room..I still had to think which illness..
was it gonna be the shits?backache??overdose of drugs??
once..I got myself into real shit..
I said I had lifted up some heavy stuff..
and had a severe backache..
the silly doctor...examined me..
then dropped a pencil on the floor..
me..the silly asshole..picked it up..:H
doctor said..nothing wrong with your back,dude..
back into the dark coalmine next day...bwaahah...
