My thoughts, eggzakly! People have unprotected sex all the time, because abotion is an option in our society, and that's fukt up as shit, man.
Wow. I'm suprised to hear some of this stuff people in here are coming out with. I suppose in the US it's a more divisive issue than over here (UK). Over here the only anti abortion or 'pro-life' (hah) people are a small minority of twisted religious zealots who the majority of the population (government included) regard as mentally ill. For a country that goes on jingoistically about 'Freedom' to the point of taking the piss out of other countries where people have many more personal liberties/freedoms ('Freedom Fries', anyone?) it's ironic that one may not even have choice over whether they're physically/mentally/financially prepared or responsible enough to take on the massive responsibility that is childbirth/parenting in certain states, just because some deranged fundamentalist fiend says so. THAT'S Freedom, huh? I'll have to go with the wisdom of the late, great Bill Hicks as ever :
I remember in 10th grade in math class, I don't know how, but the whole class got into a huge argument over abortion, even the teacher got in on it, god it went on for like 1/2 an hour
i havnt read this thread because weve all heard the arguements before. but im going to post my stance. i dont think abortion is anything like m urder. i dont consider an unborn child (or even a newborn child) to have any of the rights that we give to 'humans' as opposed to animals. since it is too hard to state when during a childs life they become worthy of being a person that is complex enough to be considered higher than animals, the line may as well be drawn at birth. what is an unborn child? it is but a piece of tissue that may or may not become an adult at one point in the future. an unborn child is less developed in almost every way than many or most animals. the ONLY people who can ever claim that abortion is a murder are people who : are vegan or believe humans have some special spiritual right above all other animals and should be preserved for any reason at all. but the base point is: abortion is as much murder as is stepping on an ant. an unborn human is no more worthy of human rights than any animal. everyone is disgusted by something. some of you are disgusted by the idea of killing a baby. i personally am disgusted by the idea of an adult sacrificing themself for a baby. or for any reason preserving the life of a baby when the life of an adult is at stake. the only value of a baby is that to its parents. if its parents dont want anything to do with it, they are probably not the nicest and responsible people, and shouldnt necessarily be raising a child at that point in their life anyway. i just think that women who chose abortion also risk chosing a life of regret and guilt and a fractured relationship with their future children.
no we must pit our human urges to make stances in order to seperate eachother and identify us from them. what are yall oppinions on having sex with animals
"What if YOUR parents had had an abortion?" If my parents would have been poverty stricken, not in love, or drug addicted (just for starters) i'm not 100% sure i'd want to be not aborted. I mean, if they didn't WANT me...
Sorry dude, didn’t mean to offend you like that. I was trying to make a point. I’m sorry that happened to your sister; no one should ever have to go through that. That is the first image that comes to my mind when someone says rape. It is a very graphic and unpleasant image because there is nothing pretty about rape. Such a horrible violation against another person seems like it would leave an individual traumatized for a long time. You sister is a strong woman because she survived it. She is still here despite the horror that she experienced. That is the most important thing. On top of her surviving it; she decided to keep the child. That seems to take guts because what she experienced seems to be so horrible. Despite what happened to her, she still wants to give that child a chance; even though the conception of that child was out of force rather then out of love. While I think your sister is brave for her decision, I could also understand why a woman may not be able to respond in the same matter as your sister. Rape is painful, thus I could understand why a woman may not want to keep a child created out of pain, misery and fear. I wish you and your sister all the best.
Thanks for that. I know you didn't mean to offend me, but it was rather insensitive of you. I'm not worried about it though. No harm, no foul, no worries BTW, my sister gave the baby up for adoption. She just couldn't bare to destroy it before it had a chance at life, as she realized it wasn't the baby's fault.
Just remember that Gods in control of everything and everyone. Anyways, abortion is the most contreversal subject to debate in my opinion. First i think "well ya everyone should have a chance at life", but then i think "if a baby is going to be brought up in a HORRIBLE life and basically no chance at succeeding in life, then save it the trouble and have the abortion", its so hard, it really is. I used to believe gay marriage was a controversal subject too, but then i realized that the bible IS wrong, God loves EVERYONE..even gays. To go and say that God hates gays is just everything God isnt, which is LOVE.
