Hi, I was just wondering if 150 watt hps light would do anygood or if a 400 watt is needed. If 150 watt hps is adaquette how many plants could be grown under it or how much space would it cover?
You could use the 150w in a small space like 2x2 and you could fit 3-4 plants. If you havent yet bought the light go with the 400w. Its my experence always go bigger than you need so if you ever find a bigger space you have the equipment.
I did some reading on the subject after my last post and found this for you at the very minimum you need 30 watts per square foot. But if its realistic deliver 60-80 watts psf both the growth rate and the quality of the produce increase.
yup.. have to agree..i've grown as an experiment when i was abou 16 years old with just one of those economical bulbs.. (about 30 watts).. worked just fine... parents started making comments about it and had to really force the flowering (it was like.. 10 -13 inches tall when i cut it and speed dried it).. had a really crappy smoke but it was ok none the less..
