I really need your help. Above are pictures. Sorry bout the quality but if you need any more to help me just ask! I have had them nearly 4 months and they are just not starting to knot together. It's really starting to annoy me and quite upsetting. Went to Download festival and saw soooo many people with dreads and then there were mine and they just looked awful compared to theirs! I just dont know what to do! Please can you offer me some advice as thinking about giving up with them. Will answer any questions! Many thanks.

dude iv had my dread for 6 months and they are exactly the same dude...its a bitch aint it. if you dont mind thin dreads you could wrap some in hemp that might help. do you wash them? wash them in water mixed with sea salt and pure lemon that will help them knot up i do it every like 2-3 days.

but hey just leave them for now wait til u have had them a year then decide wat to do lol thats what im doing cos rmeember dreads have to do their own thing you cant rly make them knot....even if it is annoying (trust me i know dude)

Yours have taken some sort of shape tho. Yeah, i do wash them, usually about twice a week. Got the dr bronners tea tree shampoo! I dont really want thin dreads but that looks like what they are turning into. Just sooooo annoying! I got some aloe vera gel thingy and some spray aswell. But i just dont know how much to use (gel) and if to even use it at all! Kind of the same with everything. I get wondered washing it as am not sure if washing it right! :(

dude, just chill! they look good! they are tightening up by the looks of it, you have plenty of kinks which are good. if you leave them, they WILL end up being nice dreads! im guessing you have thin, strait hair and that can take longer to dread but its ok. just have faith in them.

yeah I agree. They look fine. Remember that dreads take time and patience. Wait a year. I like the size too.

Ok, so the kinks and loops are good? But what about all of the loose hair? There is alot of it! Should i do anything to them or just leave them and wait months?

the loose hairs wil get sucked up by the dreads eventually, or just form new little baby dreads :)

if you're not happy with the loose hairs, you're gunna have to get used to it! All dreads have loose hairs. You can get a crochet hook and pull them back in. They keep comming out though.

don't worry. it took at least 6 months for mine to shrink and knot. not all of them are fully knotted yet (7,5 month). it takes time. Swimming in the sea helps a lot
ur dreads are gonna look great!

    peace :)
