Yah they can tell. Everytime I go in he always says so "still smoking". My answer is yEZZZir! Its not like they can do anything to you anyways they are doctors that arent even allowed to share that information with my parents. He never said anything to them even when I was smoking at 16.

Yes he will be able to tell you smoke. He probably wont be able to tell if it's weed or cigs though.
and no he wont tell you parents.

i actually went to the dentist today. The dentist asked if I had been smoking or drinking coffee. I told her I smoked and she asked if my parents knew? I said yes. that was it.

Two points. First, the question isn't whether dentists are allowed to report minor patients to someone, the question is whether this particular dentist will. "Its not ethical" only helps in a court. It depends on the dentist.

Second, they don't give a damn, except if you are getting any sedation or medication they want to know what drugs you take so they can watch for bad interactions.

What if I say I used to smoke and quit a couple of months ago. I could say my teeth used to be really yellow but now its starting to clear up. Even though my teeth are yellow. I've brushed em 3 sometimes 4 times a day even before I satrted smoking marijuana but they are still yellow so I figured it was from the weed.

all this patient doctor confidentiality is crap....if you are under 18 they can tell your parents because you are a minor, end of story...will any dentist honestly give a shit and actually say anything? no, and if so you need a new fucking dentist
