Social networking sites like this a "waste of time"?

oh. so THAT'S where their special flavor comes from. we've got some of those.

I went on facebook for the first time ever last week, on my 14 year old brother's account. I found out he's in a 'marajuana apreciation society'. I put up a comment asking if there was any reason that both words were misspelled, perhaps to demonstrate how much of a true stonor he is ?(he grassed me up to my parents 2 years ago for having 1/2 oz). Anyway, looking at that site - it's so fucking complicated. Everyone's in groups, their little enclaves where they feel safe. You've practically got 'king of the group' 'viceroy' 'shitty slave no-one likes', it's just another opportunity to impose hierarchical systems on people. I mean, that was obviously the intention of the site's creators.

I just got a facebook account after a workmate invited me. I don't understand it at all. I can't imagine it's worth the effort unless you really don't have any friends.
