They expressed their own opinions, right? And opinions shouldn't be critizised? Critisism is a really necessary thing, but I agree lots of people criticize quite offensive. They could try to give a constructive twist on it for a change. You just criticized some people yourself, by the way.
I Am A Hippie!!!! I'm Working On It!!!! And City Wok Is Right! U Shouldn't Go Into Other Boards About Subjects And Diss Them!!! I Agree With You
This is all true except they dress in shirts down to the knees known on the streets as "ghetto gowns" and strictly timberland boots. Also jeans with fat albert/ecko logo/gun drawing plastered on the side.
Whatever man. I couldn't give two shits about all your own fucking morals. The pic is gangsta & thats that. Man, Y'all wouldn't belive how many ignorant fucks out there think that everybody in the middle east is either a muslim or a terrorist. Thats what I was trying to compare: Alot of fools think that hippies are all the same too.
Saying hippies shouldnt listen to hip hop is ignorance.. if what you consider hip hop is 50 cent or mike jones or some bull like that then yea ur prob right.. that stuff is terrible.. hip hops roots came from jazz and soul music which is rooted with rock n roll... anyways my point is that their are some real lyricists out their but most are underground or faded out in the early 90s. MCs like Guru from gangstarr has some real good messages in his songs that im sure any "hippie" could appreciate, he also does jazz albums with famous jazz musicians like donald byrd.
Hip Hop and hippies can go together just fine, it just matters what type of hip hop it is......if you are talking bout that shit like pop lock and drop on the radio, forget it , that shit doesnt go together well with anything. There are many rappers that send good messages, and the negative stuff that they say is telling stories of their childhood. Listen to AZ, Saigon, et.c you will hear lots of positive messages too.
also listen to Nas, "I Can", and then try to tell me that he is promoting drugs and violence in that song, and even in the songs where he says he smokes blunts, it doesnt mean he is promoting it, he is just telling you his lifestyle
You don't make a whole lot of sense, by the way. I'm not talking about my own morals, thats nothing to do with what I was saying. The way you were talking was saying that you felt that because the guns weren't real it makes some sort of difference. If anything it makes it pathetic that he's pushing an image without actually upholding the "image". You're the one who says there's hippies who don't believe in peace, if you're saying that you actually don't think there's people in the middle east who aren't muslim. Wait. Do you actually think that there are war-loving hippies?
hip hop stands for all of those negative things in the same way that all civilization does...meaning it doesn't but those are all inherent elements of the world we live in. Hip hop shows a large spectrum of the world today and those things are only a part of it...hip hop didn't invent war, violence, rape, and all those other negative things that you might say.
You really cant be serious. Rap is just another meidum the atrist can use to express himself to the world around him. You say rap is Rape, Violence war and murder. Have you heard of Common Market , who raps about being our commuinitys together to build a better world. Or K-os who speaks about being the best person you can , about the importance of education . Have you heard his words of peace or where those not worthy of ur "Hippie" ears becuz they happend to be in the form of rap. Change our taste in music or leave do you hear urself ? Why so closeminded ? Now its true there is trash hip hop out there speaking words of pro violence , disrespect of woman , and inslaving our young minority children in the mindset it pays to be a thug , it pays to be rude and pays to have a willingness to hurt others. IT DOSNT,And not all hip hop shares this message N please dont call us hiphoppers , as you might understand.. the term isnt very hip at all . Good day.
