Got done listening to the new album, Ithyphallic, and it's probably gonna be the best death metal album of 2007. Annihilation Of The Wicked was kinda disappointing to me after such an epochal album as In Their Darkened Shrines. They sure made up for it. What May Be Safely Written, Eat Of The Dead, and Even The Gods Must Die are all stand out tracks.
meh. I find almost all death metal boring. I really dig Death though and a little morbid angel. Maybe some dying fetus too.
Hm... I only know one of their albums, Black seeds of vengeance. I even bought it at some point! It's pretty cool, especially the more epic parts, like the title track, Masturbating the War God and To Dream of Ur*. I haven't heard the new one, or any of the others, actually. *) Which is just awesome when the solo and the hyperblasts and the guitars and shit and Looooooong Befoooooooooore the Jeweled Throooooooone of Uuuuuuuur Feeeeeeeeeell Sileeeeent and Tuuuurned to Duuuuuuuuuust and AHHHHH awesome piece of art that is fo'sho'. Yeah me too but Nile is one of those exceptions... one of the bands that isn't ALL boring. Like God Dethroned and Behemoth, see?
Generally, a death metal band has to have something special for me to particularly like them. I find all three of those bands to be boring personally. To each his own. You should check out In Their Darkened Shrines. It is absolutely epic.
Yeah... Dying Fetus and Morbid Angel aren't among my favourites either. Death has a few okay tunes, but little beyond that. I will, then.
