Does anyone else love this numbers game as much as I do? I can play it non stop. I found it in the newspaper, and started doing them in class to keep myself alert. Here's the rules and a game, try it out! http://www.websudoku.com/?level=2 The objective is to fill a 9x9 grid so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3x3 boxes contains the digits from 1 to 9.
Found this game difficult to understand. The rules seem to be, no math but logic. Surely math and logic go hand in hand? Surely it is just guesswork. I am really into Kokuro now. It is a number crossword thingy. I have soduko on my phone
No. When I first started playing I thought it was guesswork too, but it really isn't. It's not so much about math, but it is a logic game. You use the clues already given to figure the rest of it out. The more you play the better your stratigie will be!
It don't matter a jot my dear say it how you want, your not Japanese and nor do you live in Japan. My wife has been sitting on the sofa with those things for 3 months or so. Had a little go but usually get told "Oi thats mine".
It's a sign of respect. We expect people to pronounce our words correctly, why can't we do it for other languages? The British and their double-standards, yet again .
Hooked. Got wife hooked. That website is the best I have seen for the game. The link shows level 2. For n00bies, try level 1.
So how IS it pronounced? Su-dokku? Su-do-koo? SU-dokku? Gimme a clue here. Never got into it, this may make me sound unintelligent but logic puzzles aren't my thing. Logic full stop isn't my thing. I'm an intuition guy, which doesn't work on shit like this.
Sorry Nay chan, but that is rubbish, since when has an oriental been able to plonounce english plopely.
Japanese syllables all count the same, there is generally no stress on any e.g where we say London as (LuuuunnnnnDone), Japanese say Lon-don.
To me, Soduko or whatever way you pronounce it is merely guess work. It is like this: 1 4 7 ? 8 19 ? ? ? ? Solve this variant. Guess what number goes. This is like the same principle as Soduko. Except this one isn't restricted to a 3 point 3 grid. The maximum number in my somouseku above is 20.
No guess work. You use the whole page to fill in the missing numbers. It's hard to explain. Like take one number, so 1, and see where it is on the board, then use those clues to follow and fill in the rest, and keep moving. It doesn't always work that neatly though. There is a method to the madness!
This is the best photo I could find that should help explain to you what I mean by it not being guesswork.
Crap, that looks complicated. I'm none the wiser. Any links to a really simple (as in for 5 year olds) guide to it? I'm fucking lost.
