Looks like the US, Israel, UK, CIA & other intelligence agencies have been seriously undermined by Hamas' takeover of the Gaza strip. Seems the "Preventative Intelligence" agency of Fatah had a treasure trove of spy info dating back to the 1970s and Yassar Arafat's regime. This is all now in the hands of Hamas who is funded by Iran and backed by Syria.

Included are the names and assignments of all spies working in Palestine for the US and the Israelis and other governments, including friendly mideast ones.

No doubt all this valuable info is going to end up in Syria and Iran, and we should see the effects in the coming months as one by one the secrets are revealed.

You can expect a lot of revenge assassinations, spy trials, double agents showing up dead, but mostly a LOT of propaganda about the CIA and Israeli intelligence agencies and their missions.

The war will likely start within the next two weeks now...imo.

Israel is going to attack Gaza. It's gonna be big this time.

Hizbollah will attack Israel from the north at the same time.

It won't take long for Syria to get involved then.

Then all hell will break loose. US will bomb Iran and Syria.

After that, who knows what will happen. Will Russia get involved?

    Skip,

Israel has no reason or motive to currently attack Gaza unless it is provoked. The internal Palestinian fighting is only benefiting Israel's position. The Fatah are known to be much more peaceful than the Hamas, and having divided Palestinian "countries" (Gaza under Hamas control, while the West Bank under the Fatah control) will make Israel's life easier, and will minimize civilian casualties... because obviously... most of the military action will now be targeted at Gaza.

Also, the Hizbollah does not support the Hamas, they are very different organizations. The Hizbollah will not be provoked by an attack on Gaza, they are not interrelated.

A war between Israel and Syria is prominent, but will probably not happen until a truly major event... such a war would lead to lots of nukes, and that won't be a good thing.

Russia will never be involved in the fighting. Russia is neutral in the sense that it sells weapons to whoever offers it the most money, no matter who they are.

Russia is shipping loads of new weapons right now to Syria and Hizbollah, paid for by Iran. The Russians won't help Hizbollah directly, but they might put up a stink if the US attacks Iran. Iran still owes money for their light water reactors and other weapon systems they've recently purchased. They just made a big payment to Russia, who then shipped Iran nuclear fuel for their new reactor, as well as the weapons ot Syria and Hizbollah.

Yes, you are correct that Israel will wait for a provocation first, and they have gained a strong advantage by having Palestine divided and at war with itself. But that might not go any further now that Hamas has achieved its goal of ousting the corrupt Fatah forces. The advantage is here now if Israel wants to use it. A couple of months from now that window may close.

    1. Israel is not only planning, but their new head of defense, Ehud Barak has every intention of neutralizing the Hamas & possibly Hizbollah threats. They've received too many new weapons that are accurate and deadly and they've gotten training in Iran to use them.

    2. I think Barak has figured out that now that Fatah has lost control of Gaza, Israel is free to respond to Hamas big time, because at the same time they will show what they can do to their enemies when they're not worried about being politically correct or having to accomodate Fatah and their supporters in the Arab world.

    3. This attack on Hamas will have to be extremely effective if it's going to turn the tide of THINKING among Arabs that Israel can be defeated.

    4. If Israel attacks Hamas you can expect a response from Southern Lebanon. There are a lot of Palestinians there, many allied with Hizbollah, they won't sit still, missiles will rain on Israel like never before (because they will be bigger, more accurate and more deadly).

    5. Therefore Israel must be prepared to attack Lebanon at the same time. Ditto that for Syria because Syria will defend its clients in Lebanon.

    6. And of course by that time, Iran will not stand still either. What will happen is Israel may launch a pre-emptive strike along with the US on not only Iran's nuclear facilities, but likely every military installation in Iran that directly threatens Iraq and the Persian Gulf shipping routes.

    7. And now Israel and the US must act quickly because their spy network has been completely undermined and their assets are at risk in Gaza, the West bank, possibly also in Syria and Iran too.

This can MOSTLY be blamed on the Bush Admin, who has had no concrete proposal for the Palestinian issue in six years. In fact, the ball has gone over to the Arab countries to play with since Condi Rice is incapable of doing her job and has only made things much worse thanks to America's Crusade against fundamentalist Islam.

    1. Israel lives with an active plan to neutralize the Hamas and Hizbollah, that plan, and its renovation with new events, is crucial to Israel's existence. Israel must be ready.

    2. You are completely right about this one. Israel will respond with great force this time... which can do both good and bad. It will cost some more civilian lives, especially since the Hamas will make a strong effort to use civilian shields for their operations.... yet it will also truly intimidate both the Hamas and the Hizbollah, who base their attacks on Israel on the notion that Israel will respond in a politically correct fashion. Israel will also use much greater force (with a much larger bomb arsenal) against the Hizbollah in Lebanon when provoked again. (Notice that I say "when"... because it WILL happen).

    3. Yes indeed.

    4. The response will first be from Palestinian guerillas and not from the Hizbollah, but eventually the Hizbollah will join in when Israel retaliates... so you are right yet again.

    5. True, and an attack on Syria will probably produce the most modern based warfare in human history. Scary.

    6. True. Israel is known to strike fast and efficently. In the 6 day war, Israel destroyed every single airbase in Egypt in one day. In the Golf War, Israel was the one to destroy Iran's nuclear reactors. You are right, Israel and the US will strike every possible target they could think of... there will no longer be any protective measures for civilians.

    7. I don't see the spy network as a big deal. I think that the Hamas are exagerrating on that notion. They are known to spread a lot of false information in order to initiate propoganda. As it is, it is extremely extremely hard to believe that there is actual documentation about Israeli spies. The Mossad is THE best espionage organization in the world, they are smarter than that.

I disagree with your last point. This can mostly be blamed on fundemental Islam... there could be no negotiations as long as all these terrorist groups deny the existence of Israel... you can give them all of Jerusalem, free land, no taxes, etc, etc, etc... and they won't stop. It has all been tried a million times.

Anyhow... you know your Middle East very well Skip... and you understand the situation. Most of the posters on this forum can learn alot from you.

Isreal and the western world have created this situation and are allowing it to escalate to the point where Israel and the western world hope whole scale war will break out. If Hezbollah and Hamas are smart they will cool their jets and not let this happen.

That would just frost the neo-cons cupcakes. They are hoping the hot heads will force this area of the world into a situation where they have free reign to come in bomb the shit out of the area and take control. If the arab world plays it cool and get's things under control, the west can't do that without some big questions being ask and answers being demanded.

Keep in mind that Israel handed over Gaza. If they "created" the situation by giving Palestinians their own land, what does this say for the peace process?

I know the need to blame Bush and Israel for everything is of utmost importance, but there is the tricky problem that Hamas isn't calling for peace or a two state solution. How do you negotiate with someone that wants you to destroy you right after they finish destroying their own domestic opposition?

...oh and while we're at it...

Get off the Native land, you colonizing swine!

You and all of your murderous American people!

Go back to Europe where you came from... goddamn land occupiers.

    See my point?

Don't preach while you yourself live in such hypocrisy. Give up your house to that poor Native American bum drunk who you pass by on the street without even looking into his eyes out of shame. Common, do it!
