I could never do the veggie thing for over a week... never did see the point. This time I have no motivation... but trying something new will be nice... So I'm gonna follow this menu for the next week (maybe 2) and just see what all the fuss is about (and to see if vegan food actually has flavour). http://www.vegsandiego.com/veg/8/Veganism_on_a_Budget.htm (saw this posted somewhere in the forums).
eeck..more power to you. i tried, but i could never last more than a week. i am void of all willpower.
Well... I'm not going to be a vegan, or a vegetarian... I just want to experience the cuisine mostly. But not eating meat for 2 weeks could be fun.
going veggie is easy. just drop a few hits of acid and watch a documentary on how a slaughter house works.
hey theres a whole section just for vegetarians and vegans to talk about everything and anything.. i suggest ya reseach and read and try cooking anything that sounds good... good luck, i can answer any questions too
Ya... I didn't want to post this on the Veggie forum because well... some of them have extremely long objects shoved up their ass and I didn't want this thread to turn into some debate about meat vs. veggie blah blah blah. Plus, that website I posted (I think I stole the link from Drumminmama now that I think about it) has a nice menu and cooking instructions for budget... and that's pretty much all I need. Going without meat is the easy part... getting my lazy ass up to cook after work will be the hard part... but it might also encourage me to cook... having to cook dishes I've never cooked before... so it should be fun.
Is falafel vegan? Nahh... I just made some falafel and humus last week... yummy. By the way, I ate at Crazy Buffet yesterday, oh man... we had no idea that it was father's day and the place was packed..... at least there was a live pianist playing... and the food was extra fresh, so that was pretty cool.
thats cool. i think it's good to give our bodies a break from what we normally cram into it all the time. even i have to take a chocolate break every now and again.
Kudos for trying.......but a word of caution, expect bowel and headaches, exepect energy levels to chave, as it is a total change then to how you live and eat and exist. I would suggest instead that you start to simplify your diet and then after about two months of doing so, then do vegan. Otherwise is will not be beneficial to you and you will not feel very well. What ever your decision, love and light and eat to be well.
I could never quite understand this vegetarian stuff, man is not a herbivore he's a meat eater - besides what happens if some girl wants you to eat her out Sorry babe, no can do...I'm a vegan Hotwater
yay!!!! im going into the vegan steps after my birthday. im glad you are going to try it. there are still go amny good things to eat!
I tried to go vegan. It's a pain in the ass at restaurants and I'm not a good enough cook. I'd like to reduce my karmic debt, but for the meantime, I'll stick with semi-vegetarian (no mammals).
I currently eat a mostly veggy/ healthy ethnic food diet... with meat thrown in once in a while. Will this truly affect my body drastically? It's just food, after all. Plus... I eat next to nothing, I get all of my nutritional value from cigarretes and green tea
I recon. I' m kind of half vego in a sence. I dont eat red meat but only eat white meat on a very bluest of blue moon's. Hard to explain that to a full on vego/vegan. You get your heard torn off your shoulders and spat in if your not careful. Its like walking on egg shells around them in the vegetarian forum. Except these eggs are like dinosaur-sized eggs and theres about a million off them.
Haha Man... I myself cannot imagine living an entirely vegetarian diet... and hell... vegan is out of this world... So I must try it... at least for a week. Who knows... maybe it will turn me into a sushiterian, if nothing else.
