I am Zhyppers.. Lost and Confuzzled

I am Zhyppers.
I had a run-in with the forums and I think that is because of low reading skills, unknowledgable in what goes on in forums and the ways of life that this forum attracts.
I am a kid that has lived in "sheltered" area my whole life. Basically, I have heard of liberalism and the hippies, but I only know what the people at my home tell me. Growing up thinking what I see is a way of life...Guns, alcohol, dope, racial slurs, "God"(or thechristian hypocritical views thereof), etc. I grew up knowing the hick way of life. I got out of the area with my education, saw some different views, and now I am thirsty to study and know what people here are about. My knowledge on the whole matter is one-sided. Seriously! Where I'm from, if you see a hippy, you point and laugh. For me, I knew somethign wasn't right.
I do shoot guns, but I don't smoke or drink for my own personal reasons. I have read most of the bible and a few gnostic gospels. Knowing what I have read and knowing what was told to me by the hillbillies, Something didn't add up. I thought we were suppose to respect people's ideas and have an open mind about everything.
The closest I know a hippy is my sister who moved out of the area a few years ago. I think she is a bit of a closed-minded hippy, but I think that is just a sibilling war going on. Enough of that.
Basically, I want some input on what the forums are about. I don't care about debates and I really don't want to be bashed right now. i think the best thing for me to do is to try to figure out what the Hell is an alturnitive lifestyle than what I live with now.
