I just got caught smoking god.

you are right about the part where people do put too much value on school, andyes it is true, anyone can make it and be successful in life without a high school diploma, but usually you need to be smart to do that, and your friend sounds smart. but this kid is 13 years old, and he doesnt seem to smart, becuase the way it sounds, all he thinks about is weed, and not about his future. Also it is good to get ur Diploma or GED, becuase not everyone that doesnt graduate high school is going to be as successful as your friend, but i totally understand where you are coming from when u say they do put too much emphasis on school, but this kid is 13, hes lucky his mom didnt already kick him out, and if his smoking affects her that much. and he plans on doing it more, he should move out, or give it up for a while.

 

I wasn't saying he should stop smoking weed because it's soooo bad and he is going to completely ruin his life if he has a joint every now and then. But he's thirteen. And your mother crying should be a strong enough image to move you at least stlightly, no matter how distant you are from them.

 

I personally dont believe he is doing anything great (I am not a fan of capitalism) but he is living a fantastic life right now and is doing something he is good at and likes so why not let him? And he is making a contribution to society...he works for a firm that helps people make money which helps the economy which then helps the rich get richer. Plus w/ his tax money he is helping the military fight the war on terror (and I think George Bush will agree that is contributing to society).

ok ok , ur friend is smart and knows how to make money, we get it , but not everyone that doesnt finish high school is like ur friend, so this kid needs to figure out what hes doing with his life

That really is cool, but we all know that for every 1 of your friend there's about 1000+ h/s dropouts below the poverty line......

We're not picking on you OP, but man, I've seen and been good friends with a lot of kids who started out young and i can tell you right now the choices they made and are making are leading them down some shady paths bro... just don't be one of them.

 

You might know one person who dropped out of high school and is doing well with their life right now, but that is rare. Companies don't really get excited when they see you don't even have enough dedication to finish 12 years of school. Your chances of making a decent living without a GED are shit compared to having one. I advocate responsible use of drugs, and it is hard to do that when you are 13 years old. Also, weed can get you into a certain counter-productive lifestyle sometimes. For a while, all I did was smoke and hang out in my friend's basement, because that was way more fun than doing other shit. I've just learned how to use it more responsibly, as with most of the other users of this forum (I hope). It affects different people in different ways, some people can handle it, some can't. My advice for the author of this thread is to get your shit together, get things right with the people who provide everything for you (a roof over your head and three meals a day doesn't seem like much until you don't have it anymore), and then later on when you can handle it, smoke again. Just don't make it a priority.

I, honostly, knew these would be everyones reactions, but if you had a good time, you had a good time. I honostly, if I were in your shoes move in with your dad. Because 1, if he doesn't care, you may be able to convince him into smoking with you, hence getting him started or turning you on to his guy, or whatever. But whatever choice you make, take care, man.

 

You need to do what you want to do. If you want to smoke daily andfocus on school you CAN graduate with honors and go to a good college. If you want to smoke daily and be a hippy/pothead you will probably fail. BTW Fuck everyone else, don't do it b/c they do it, do it because you enjoy it and like how it feels.

Personally I think you're too young but then again I'm not ur mommy and I could care less, but I do think you need to learn how to type. Poor english makes the most intelligent person sound like a fool.

 

hey, for the kid who started this shit, you gotta chill out for a couple years man. you have such a long ass time before you can do fuckin anything.what are you, a fuckin 6th grader? smoking cigars and shit. your still waiting to do drivers ed for fucks sake., and you have 5 years before you can buy cigs and cigars, i would hate to be at that age again.
