Ya... I always grill veggies together with the meat... but a grill and a steak just go so well together. (and KC... I use that Monterey seasoning... small world).
We were going to grill today, but Daniel's mom took us out for a P'zone since it was our 2 year anniversary. And nothing beats eating for free, lol.
Congrats on the anniversary. I must disagree... Getting paid to eat beats eating for free. Now I must go out and win as many eating contests as possible!
you know what we do? we get some flank steak or chicken and grill it with some salt, pepper, lime juice, chipotle peppers. then we also grill our bell peppers (whatever color is cheapest) in the same mixture of seasoning. i make a salad of spring greens (with fresh cilantro), fresh tomatoes, diced, onion (red or yellow), granulated garlic, pepper, olive oil and lime juice. toss the cold salad, let it sit and marinate & mingle (throw whatever else tastes good on there, too). then, when the food on the grill is done and cooled, we throw that on the salad, toss, then throw some fresh shredded monterey jack OR manchego cheese. not too much cheese, it's gross.
Uhhum, good idea. I myself have a dream... I dream that one day Ultraglide will have a label on it that says "Gay friendly"... that would be hilarious.
I grill often, usually at least 5 times a week, meat, veggies and a side burner for either pasta, rice or taters......the heat is not in the house and the taste of grilling is great Love summer!!
We use this stuff called montreal chicken seasoning. I don't eat steak (my man will), but I think the spices are similair to the afforementioned monterey seasoning. (have to try that) We were gonna grill today, but it was friggin pouring out. :$ Tomorrow night we'll be eating grilled mushroom swiss burgers! sluurp* Oh, I just got a nice oval cool touch crockpot for my birthday..Yet another way to make yummy stuff.
Mmmmmmmm...I love chili! My aunt gave me her homemade baked bean recipe. I've got a very strange recipe for turkey kielbasa (lower fat) too. You use grape jelly, & ketchup to slow cook it in. Sounds disgusting, but I had some at a cookout, & it absolutely rocked.
green chili is a new mexico perfect dinner. you have to get fresh green chilis, you roast them when you buy them at the roaster at the front of the store. then you take them home, soak them a while, and pull the skins off (with some gloves on, they're vicious). then you freeze them until you're ready to use them. and they're so freaking good.
My parents and I grill whenever the weather's decent enough. We don't grill in the winter because it's just way too cold and snowy, but we grill so much during the summer and parts of spring and fall. We almost grill too much.
We grill quite often. Moreso in the spring/summer months than the fall/winter months, but really, we grill year round. Lately we've been doing a lot of it, what with the weather being what it's been! Beautiful!
