What do you know? What do you think?

One way is the big rip since space gets to be a more powerful vacuum later on. That's rip everything apart into infinity. Like that creepy guy on Hellraiser said "I'll tear your soul apart". They were talking about the big rip on this show called the Universe on the history channel. You missing it if you aint watching it. It's on at 9pm tuesdays.

    ANOTHER UNIVERSE!

meaning a place, like the one that surrounds us, where the laws of physics and nature work, even a little, differently, then they do in this one.

but i don't think almost anyone here, whether on this forum, or 99.x joe sixpacks you're going to run into on the street, have the slightest idea how big and diverse a place a universe actually is. universes contain galaxies. even galaxies beggar the average immagination. galaxies contain solar systems like our own. billions upon billions of them.

as for this universe ending, it was here unimmaginably long before this earth or anything on it or the solar system it occupies or ANYTHING in that, and will of course, be there, long after it is gone. solar sysems are born live and die within galaxies that keep on keeping on.

so why this nonsense about universes ending? you ain't gonna be arround to see it. our entire human species ain't gonna be arround to see the death of our solar system's sun and its planets, our earth among them.

belief is all well and good, but it just plain ain't go no idea of the scale of anything.

    thems is just the fax.

one galaxy takes longer for the light from stars (suns, yes stars are suns like our own) to get from one side of it to the other, then our entire species has ever existed. all of its history. as long as there's been anything remotely resembling a human, humanity's cousins and ancestors, maybe even then mammalian life forms in general.

so who flogging cares how a UNIVERSE can end?
what we need to concern ourselves with is how the web of life on this planet on which we live, and upon which our own existence utterly and completely depends, can collapse as a resault of our short sightedness, ways of life, and sheer weight of numbers. and most especialy how simply and easily we can avoid its doing so. if we will. instead of adamantly refusing to. instead of putting egocentric economic and otherwise fanatical bull shit ahead of doing so.

well in that case it's pretty obvious, depending on which side you emerge from, beyond the yuniverse is either finger or nail.

I have come to believe there are an infinite number of universes; perhaps being formed every second. There is no end.
