    Namaste,

I am interested in wearing make-up (I am a male) I want to be androgynus, but I can't tell some members of my family. I don't live with them or even in the same county as them, but I am still nervous about it. I know I can do it, but I have to lose like 50 pounds to pull it off. What do you guys think?

    Namaste, Karayan,
It is difficult to figure out where you are in the sexual spectrum.
I'd say that it helps in presentation if you are a bit androgynous to begin with.
overly hairy or angular males have a harder time.
Very curvy women do, too, but if the "both genders" look is what you want, you can blur enough lines to pass acceptably.
I think our transgendered forum will have much more assistance for you.

as for the make up, wear it now. but do lose excess weight for your own health.
I think eye accents will be the best bet, and if you are subcontinent as I'm guessing from greeting and name, your eyelashes are probably already the envy of women.
lip stick and rouge often look too clownish even for genderbending.
    practise, practise, practise.

Are you doing this for the look alone? or are you exploring who you are?

Androgynus is when a male or female looks as if they could be both a male or female.

Actually I am Scandinavian, British, Native American, and African American. I'm a mutt :) Thank you guys for answering this post...I really needed to get that out in the open :)

Sorry I forgot to answer your question...I am gay. I enjoy being a guy, but I would also like to be a girl...if that makes sense? I live in a small town in IL.

oh, so you just want to play, not change over? the David Bowie look, perhaps?
slim up & get some nice eyeliner and nail polish. should make some double takes, at least, esp if you change up the clothes some.
I've friends in De Kalb. Close?

I am thinking lip stick, eye liner, and nail polish. I want really to look like the guy who played Ra in the Stargate movie. I don't know how far I am from DeKalb...I live in Monmouth, IL.

    Namaste Karayan,
Androgyny is so hot. Go for eye liner, lip liner, maybe wax up the eyebrows a bit or something and keep the hair short but styled nicely... also, i find that androgynous folks tend to be fairly slim. Oh, and suspenders. Lots of suspenders. :p Have fun with it and love yourself!

If you really want to, then do it. It may just be a faze like it was for me when I was in my 20s.. It made me feel sexy cross dressing. I don't do it anymore, and I don't feel like doing it either. Everybody has their own bag you know?

Your right...I should just do it and if someone cares then I'll tell them it's my bag baby! Thanx for all your help!

YUP is not an answer to an either/or question.

I manouvered the suspenders (meaning an American garter belt for stockings) v. braces (in the US, suspenders, used to hold trousers up rather than a belt) bit in the UK, and wondered what way it went in Canada.

    Whoa. My appologies.
Yup as in, clips that hold up pants (trousers), and wrap over the shoulders.

After talking to my family about it (everyone except my TuTumomma (maternal Grandma)) it was decided everything was okay and one of my sisters said it was ok to come as a woman to her wedding :p
