all of the above! dead but not over the hill. insane, crude, but actualy funny, and damd good at it. that silly stupid show of his i will always miss and never forget. (a couple of my favorite lines of his: (spoken in his innocently naughty precosious little boy persona): " oy could see they wore pink nikkers course they had pinknik baskets" and "nothing sucseeds like a parrot with no beak!") =^^= .../\...
I liked the Benny Hill Show. He was a little like the Marx Brothers, most of it was just lighthearted silliness, but if you weren't paying attention he'd sneak something devious by you.
haha, BOTH. benny hill was pretty great... but its alright that its no longer running, I could imagine the show would just bomb. I keep remembering that scene where hes running through the woods, gets tired, and pays some old hag to give him a ride on her back.
I think he was one of the best comic genius's of our time ,great loss when he died, they are having reruns here in australia at the moment again
I loved Benny Hill. I used to stay up late when I was in High School to watch his show every night (it was on atlike 11:30pm), knowing I had to be up for school at 6am. Back then we got his shows about 6 months late. I was sad to hear he had died.
I think Benny Hill was the last of the "silent comedy" geniuses where all the tricks by people such as "Laurel and Hardy", Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin etc etc were put to great use - as well as him inventing a load of stuff more - !!! yeah he was one funny dude Just while we are on the subject I think its about time those silent comedies were shown a lot on tv again - When I was a kid they used to show them every weekend on kids tv and they teach people a lot about life and not taking everything so seriously
Benny Hill was a comedy genius because he was the only British comedian who laughed at sex & didn't 'intimate' cautiously about sex like all the others. He was sacked by Thames Television in 1989 after pollitically-correct comedian Ben Elton made a remark much to the effect that he was too 'sexist' for the 1980s.He died a few years later of a broken heart. I remember watching his 8pm to 9pm show in the 1970s & I can tell you it was a real treat after a day at school. The only show to come near to it was 'Bizarre' from Canada in the early 1980s. I know Benny Hill is still popular around the world & long may it be so!!.
I always used to stay up late and watch the show with my dad. said it wasn't a kid show but he was always laughing his ass off in his chair watching it. so i wanted to watch too. totally forgot what the show was about its been so long but i remember i loved it back then... Not like im so old or anything lol but i just dont remember much about it...besides giggling at night with dad sitting in his chair eating candy...

Ever occur to you that weirdos & geniuses more often than not, do cross the same path, thick inlaid with criticism? Ah, the life of a critic.
I think he was funny upto the 80s - then he lost the plot. It was a shame he was not ''used'' more than he was - he could have done so much more - i imagine his reluctance to conform - and a natural self destructive mentality stopped him from progressing. pre 80s ''genius'' post 80s ''weirdo''
I used to like him and watched his shows all the time when I was 8 years old - and at that time I found them funny. Now I feel a little embarrassed when I watch it. Compared to Monty Python's Flying Circus, Benny Hill is extremely primitive. Yeah, sometimes he makes me laugh, but at the same time I feel ashamed that I'm laughing...so I'd rather called him a weirdo. Never a genious.
Ohh a real genius and one of the funniest men, but apparently in real life he was sexually quite wierd
