so last night i went to a concert, the bands were mae, ok go, and the fray. now i'm sure that a lot of ppl here don't like any of these guys, and frankly i was not a big fan of the fray. but i was pleasantly surprised. they put on a great show, and their music really isnt that bad, even tho it is mainstream. ok go was really good, they had a lot of energy, plus my teacher knows one of the guys haha. and mae, well mae wasnt great but still it was a good concert. i'm gonna start going to more concerts, cuz u dont get the true feel of a band from just an album.

Well, sometimes you can get the true feeling of a band through the album, but nothing beats a good gig indeed!

music was meant to be experienced live...the last few thousand years we as humans have been getting puddled by rhythms, melodies, and stories. Its only been very recent that recorded music has been available. While there are definately some albums that are just gorgeous, I have never heard any album by any band that has even come close to matching the mojo that happens when an audience and a hot band get in tune with each other....

go out and support live music...

I agree about seeing live music, but the only reason why people only experienced it 'live' for thousands of years was of course because they didn't know how to record it.

true, but there's so much editing that goes into a record. you can edit out a band's lack of musical talent in a record, but it's much harder to do that live. and you don't get a good feel for a band's energy until you see them on stage.
