I dont have a favouruite charity, allthough I have donated the most money to the RSPCA, allthough I didn'nt enjoy working there for the people I enjoyed my time there for the animals. I felt that as well as giving my small change here and there I was making a difference to the lives of the animals there, even though it was a small considering it was voluntary work. I say that if you feel that your making a difference its all good.
I've been into supporting charities lately that collect knit items, because I'm always knitting up something, I may as well once in a while do it charitably. So like The Dulaan Project or the Linus Project. Ronald McDonald House is good too, and I've supported the Canadian Cancer Society on a few occasions, because they really helped my mom when she had breast cancer.
I would figure that uh... like most things disguised as religion, within government leadership, it's merely for political gain... anyone who thinks they actually believed the words coming out of their mouth, well, really should think twice about the words coming out of their mouth. Think of that South Park episode with Faith Plus One. Political BS aside... My favorite charities are the Cheseapeake Bay Foundation, the North Carolina Beach Buggy Association, the International Game Fishing Association, The Humane Society, Habitat For Humanity, and the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, Rex Foundation, SFC (Singing For Change), Blues For Peace, National Public Radio/Public Broadcasting Corp., Courthouse Theatre Group, and the Wolf Trap Foundation For Performing Arts, in Vienna, Virginia...
