There are too many people that do it. There are other ways to make yourself feel better.

I try to quit but it doesn't work. Even when I give on of my razor blades it still doesnt.
There are just too many things that I could cut with and everytime I get sad, depressed or mad the temtation is there.

And when I asked if there was anyone else that did, I was talking about on this site.

i've thought about it hundreds of times in my life but never have done it as i'm afraid of the pain of the razor.

my husband used to cut himself a lot and still does things to self-mutilate when he just can't handle his emotions. he doesn't use cutting anymore though.

I am sure you are not the only one - it is more common than you would think! You can try different ways. What is said that people who self harm should try and distract themselves when they feel like cutting, like going for a walk, listening to music or phoning someone. Or hold an ice cube in your hand - it has the same kind of effect but are less drastic than cutting. But you need to amke yourself stop, the psychological effects of self harm are not easy to change!

When I was younger I used to cut myself. What helped me stop was a boxing bad. I would bunch and bunch until I was drained.

Seek help if you haven't already.

I used to punch walls for the same effect. When you feel pain your body produces endorphines and you feel better, but you need to find a different way to get that feeling.

I'm here if you need anything, but please get help.

I do it. I really don't see what the problem is, just as long as I don't kill myself. It works for me. I used to do other things to hurt myself. Sometimes I burn myself, or shut doors on body parts. I like the pain, it makes me feel better. There isn't anything wrong with it unless you are trying to kill yourself.

^ya there is, ur body is like a temple and u should respect it. Uve only got one body. and u are slowly killing urself mentally and physically. Try talkin to a good friend or a best friend or listenin to music. Thats what i do. Running also releases endorphans that make u feel better. I also long board when i am really depressed or pissed off. If u need someone to talk to i can always listen

I did it for almost two years...but I quit two years ago. It was one of the most pointless things that I've ever done. I look back on it and wonder what the hell I was thinking. It really solves nothing.

I guess you don't really want to hear that right now... but in the long run, it doesn't solve anything. Somehow it feels good in the present, but in the end it won't get you anywhere and it won't make you feel any better later.

There are plenty of other ways to positively soothe yourself...like reading a good book, watching some good movies, listening to some good music, going for a walk, going for a bike ride, taking a bubble bath, sleeping, hanging out with friends, writing, drawing, painting, etc.

If ya ever want to talk, I'm always around...so don't hesitate to PM me.

I can't punch my walls...they're concrete...last time I did that I broke my wrist and my hand cause I punched it so hard.

And my friends have tried to get me help. But "help" doesn't seem to help that much. I figure I wil grow out of it or I'll hit a vein on accident and that's when I'll stop. Cause I've tried pretty much everything.

Hey, I used to cut myself alot, since I was about 11 but over the years it got least frequent, and I don't now. I know how you feel. Self-harm can be really hard to stop. It may take time and there are likely to be ups and downs along the way but you will get through it. When you get the urge to cut try and use different methods like putting your hands into a bowl of ice cubes for a short time or rubbing the ice on the part of your body you feel like cutting or using a red marker, paint, pen or lipstick to mark your body instead of cutting. You also should keep yourself occupied, do something you enjoy and try and take your mind off of things. Just remember that your not alone, a lot of people cut for different reasons, if your cutting is triggered by your depression, I think you should seek some counseling. Things will get better. Take care xoxo

there's nothing wrong with it aslong as you know not to kill your self.
i hange out with goths/emos and know at least 10 people who cut themselfes(i've tried, it didin't have much effect).
if your going to keep cutting be ready toaccept the title of 'emo'
