red hot chili peppers tattoo

i have been savng up for a tattoo for sometime now and i definately want it to have something to do with the chili peppers. i know its usually a bad idea to get a band tattoo cause you minght get over them, but thats why i want to choose one that could have a double meaning.
i want to get it on kind of the inside hip a bit. like on the hip but can be covered by bikini or undies or whatever.
sort of small, but a good size.

im thinking of maybe a small lyrics line or a song name.
so far im really into the idea of 'by the way' just printed there.

does anyone else have some good word ideas or advice?

 

That sounds like a good idea. I'm a big peppers fan too.
If ur sure you're never going to get tired of it, then go for it.
The peppers have some great lyrics in some of their songs, it'd be awesome to get one of their lines tattooed on u, but i'm all for the song names too.
In the end, it's whatever you feel you'll like the most and remember you'll see it everyday for the rest of your life, so choose wisely.

 

I loved Aerosmith for 9 years, now I like them, but it isn´t something which is predicate about me. Insofar that maybe I wouldn´t have Aerosmith tatoo, but have something with double meaning sounds good.

yeah thats what i thought. i cant deny the fact that i will probably not like them as much in the future so im definately picking something with a double meaning.
thats why i want to get 'by the way' because the album actually reminds me of a period in my life that was important to me
so its not just about the band

 

after looking at the neil young tatoo i cant help but wonder what artists think about people wearing tatoos of them.

 

You should check out the autobiography by Anthony Kiedis, "Scar Tissue". You'll learn alot about the stories behind the lyrics, and you'll be able to identify more closely with the peps on a different level. After I read Scar Tissue, Under the Bridge was totally my favorite, cause he has a badass story about the Mexican mafia to go along with it.

However thats a blanket opinion due to your age. Ive known plenty of people who have made good tattoo decisions and have definately been ready and mature for it at 15, but many many more that arent close to it. So its just an opinion with nothing to do with you personally. You may be one of the few that i would support getting the tat.

Also the fact you asked for "work ideas" kind of made me go against it. There should be something special that stands out for you and that youre sure of. The words that are special to you, that mean everything to you, and will be with you forever as a special thing in your life. You shouldn't need to pitch for ideas.

And in the end, it will be there for your entire life. Is there any real need to rush. I've had multiple tattoo ideas in my head for a long time now. Some have gone over the years and many have stayed. Im in no rush (and too poor at the moment for any serious work anyway), and I'm in the same boat as you as many of the planned tattoos are what many people would put down. Band-inspired tattoos. Game-inspired tattoos. Things that may not be as much of a love in your future but have made such a mark on your life and been such an influence. I've had ideas for Korn and Final Fantasy tattoos since i was about 14. Theyre still embeded in my head to have them inked at some stage, and both things are still just as big to me as ever.

Wow that rant went on. Just thought I'd mention that im not anti the band tat idea. Just im influenced to believing that most 15yr olds that get tattoos are prone to making big mistakes or regretting their decisions. If you do decide to get it, just make damn sure it is exactly what you want. Also, dependant on where you live of course, but tattooing under 18 is generally illegal. In a lot of places ive been the people who will tattoo minors are the BAD tattooists in the area. So be careful of that also. Where i am now however, some of the best will tattoo minors if they believe they have the maturity, and ive seen some damn beautiful tattoos on 15year olds.
