Hey people WOW, I was at wonderful Genesis concert in Poland. It was in Chorzow on the big sport field. the weather was terrible! All the time it was raining, just all the time. but it was amazing. Thunderstruck was amazing. The stage... well, awesome! big screens on the right and left and veeery big diod screenplay in the middle. Higher psychedelic performance. Concert, artist, music, the sound, and mailny stage and the weather, everything were greta! It was an abou 40 thousand of people, kool. Check out the photos from the gig, this is polish fanclub forum, but big photos are available there(go dow the page).
Ooo great. I wish I could see Genesis. I didn't like them before...but then I heard Foxtrot, Selling england by the pound...and now I think they are amazing. Dancing with the moonlit knight and Supper's ready are my favorite songs. Someday I'm going to see Genesis. Just too bad they aren't performing with Gabriel, I just love his outfits on stage.
That would be cool if SBB* opened for Genesis, I wouldn't be suprised. They are a groovy space rock band from Poland. They are mid 70s, but I hear they still tour to this day. Are they big in Poland still? *Silesian Blues Band or Szukaj - Burz - Buduj or Search - Break - Build up http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=308
If Gabriel and Hacket rejoined I would pay good money to see them. I liked Invisible Touch but other than that I'm not a big Collins era fan. He's an absolutely awesome drummer and singer though, just not too good at writting music, IMO.
Congrats on seeing them! I lucked out and saw them when in Philly a year ago. They where setup for playing 2 nights i believe but sold both out quick and added a third in which i got tickets for. Though they are getting old, the concert was still great and impressive.
I saw them last year. They were fucking awesome!! Phil Collins did an awesome drum solo with these cool drums. I'd see them again for sure.
I just got hooked on Genesis this year after hearing "Watcher of the Skies." I realized that, prior to Steve Hackett leaving, they actually played music that wasn't pop-oriented, and that (gasp) Phil Collins is actually one HELL of a drummer. The "Apocalypse in 9/8" section of Supper's Ready is sheer genius. Wonder how many times they had to practice that in order to get it right live? Gondo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7m3PGqDl3k)
i would loooooooooooooooooooooooooooove to see genesis...a lot i was supposed to go see them for the turn it on again tour like 2 years ago or whatever but i didnt have enough for a ticket and i had work that day i think...one of the people from my work went and said it was amazing. i love genesis though even without peter gabriel though i prefer it with him. a trick of the tail is still really good though
I saw them around 1977. Too bad I missed the Peter Gabriel lineup. They were good but not nearly as PROGRESSIVE as they were when Peter was in the band.
