Going out on a limb here...

Ok I've googled every combination of words I can think of for this and keep getting junk. So I'm throwing this question out in some forums and on here in the hopes that someone knows the answer or can direct to me some better way to find it.

My sister had a compilation cd, a promotional one. I think it was with a magazine, but not 100% sure on that. One of the tracks on it was "Molly" by Mindless Self Indulgence. For the life of me I can't remember a single other track that was on it..but I remember liking a lot of them and would really like to figure out what they were.

I'm pretty sure the cd was called "(Sponsor/Brand name)'s Summer Mix" but without more parameters I just keep getting everyone in the world's blog on their summer mix they made when I google it.

The mix wasn't all punk, but mostly punk and rock, all people I'd never heard of before, and I don't think I've heard of since.

I know that's a really out there question, but if you have no idea what i'm talking about and could even point me to a good website or anything I would be uber greatful.

 

It didn't have Tub Ring on there by any chance, did it?

 

I'm not sure, I want to say yes, maybe just out of wishful thinking but the name does sound familiar, and it's not a band I listen to, so maybe I read it on the disk and it stayed in my head...or maybe it just reminds me of that obnoxious song "tub thumping"...ugh

 

did you check out the punk-o-rama and unsound compilations? that's my best bet.

 

well, I asked my sister when she was down here the other day and she knows what I'm talking about which made me feel a little better. She said it was from Alloy magazine, I emailed them, but they don't have the info for me so guess I'm SOL. Unfortunately my sis threw out the CD because it got so scratched it wouldn't play anymore.

 

Mindless Self Indulgence and Tub Ring have gotton rather big in the Acid Punk movement lately...MSI is HUGE actually...because the chick from that band married that waste of space from My Chemical Romance...the other bands on that CD were Toxic Narcotic and Mouth Sewn Shut...the 4 of the toured together...and i think Sonic Youth was on there with Taking Back Sunday...im not sure why though...hahaha...unless it was a different CD from Alloy...hahaha

Im not gunna say im right...because that COULD be a lie...but i will say thats the only CD i can think of that had MSI and Tub Ring on it by that Mag...
