Let's settle this: Note: This poll is for Americans only. I want to see how patriotic us American stoners really are or aren't...
i voted somewhat, but disgree with many of the government's policies and actions. i like our country, i'm proud that i live here. but i just don't agree with the laws and some of the shit that goes down here
I believe there is a difference between loving the country and loving the government. Government is an evolving structure. It won't be the same in 10 years as it is now. I love this country, even with all of the problems. It would be a HUGE problem if everyone here hated the country. Nobody would make any effort to improve things.
I'm patriotic, I love my country, and I think that America's great. Of course there are times where I don't agree with what's going on, but overall I'm a big fan of America. I get so damn tired of people hating America for the most asinine, minute reasons. Oh well. What can ya do?
Great Point--I Agree. Truth Of The Matter Is, Folks Can Criticize And Denounce The U.S. Government All They Like, But We Are Blessed To Live In A Country That Believes In Freedom And Democracy. Many, Many Things Need To Change--And At Least I Have The Right To Say So Without Fear Of Retribution. I CANNOT Stand Bush, But I Do Love My Country : )
Loving your country is one of the worst kinds of love there is. People actually kill in wars and die themselves out of blind love for their country. Pride is soaked in egotistic self-love. Would I say I love this more than that? Of course not. There is a major difference between love through acceptance, and conforming pride. One is felt out of true freedom, the other out of fear.
Loving the country and loving the government are two completely seperate entities. I love this country but can't stand the majority of the government's positions. But I'd never leave it for Canada like so many cried after Bush won in 2004. As if things would've been compltely different under Kerry? If he had won, the GOP would've probably blamed the Iraq failure since 2004 on him and the Dems and the House would most likely still be under the Right. Back on topic, yes I'm very patriotic but not in the streotypical way.
Then you are thick your country is a disgusting shit hole and your flag is not worthy of my ass hole.
i chose, no i am not however i realized i do love my country as far as we are a democracy/can do basically whatever/have a hell of a lot of freedoms
